Ambience at its best. Staffs got my heart very gentle and patient. The Millhouse got my vote anyday
Great food and friendly staff
Called to the Millhouse last Friday morning to book a table for 4 on Saturday at 6pm and explained we had always booked a table with chairs by the window in the glass area. For the first time ever, I was told by Hugh that they can not reserve a table, which I was surprised at, as we always reserved a table before and my brother has a bad back and need to apply a seat support. He told me some table will be available for us at that time. To our great surprise, when we arrived, the table that I had asked to book was reserved with a sign on it. I questioned Hugh about this and received a dismissive reply with a great amount of arrogance 'that we are not regulars'. When the rest of our party arrived, we decided to stay because the rain and weather was so bad outside, it was too late to go elsewhere. Not that I should explain: 1. We are regulars as we all like very close by. 2. We will not be regulars again. The rest of the staff treated us with great respect, however, this gentleman named Hugh that seems to be the main manager of the eating area, showed us nothing but arrogance and disrespect and this has made me write this review. As regulars and neighbours to the Millhouse for over the last 50 years we would like others to know of our experience and will continue to spread the news of our very disappointing experience locally. Before leaving, we confirmed the Hugh's name with a staff member.
Carvery dinner is always fantastic here. As a coeliac, it delighted me that I can have the gravy and a dessert too. The allergens menu is handy and saves the embarrassment of asking the server when they're so busy. All the staff are so friendly and helpful.
Stopped in for a carvery. It was nice, good portions and priced well. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The pub is spotlessly clean. Recommended
Once the table fiasco was sorted we enjoyed our visit. You cannot book in advance. The food was nice and reasonably priced.
Great family party, service was excellent under the watchful eye of Hugh who was very helpful and accommodating. Food was delicious compliments to the chef. Coukd not have asked for more. Will definitely be back.
my favourite pub for carvery lunch and gastro pub type dinner. reliable and delicious quality food on a very nice environment.
I was last night with a friend and we were very disappointed because they discriminated against us. Firstly when we arrived the man who received us asked us if we can pay three courses, secondly we didn't finished to eat our dinner and they wanted take off the plates, that was very annoyed and thirdly, they requested us to pay the bill saying that the kitchen was going to close, that was at 9 pm .....of course they don't asked the same to other people around us.....we really felt discriminated . Very bad place to foreigners.
The owner a very friendly man and will greet you when you arrive with a happy face which makes you feel welcome The food is excellent so couldn't ask for better + service is very good
