We did a little stop at Cambridge for a Sunday roast with my family whilst travelling back to london and we were lucky enough to try The Mill. The pub is really atmospheric, ideal for a little walk by the river. The food was truly exceptional. I had one of the best roasts ever! We highly recommend this place.
Pub on the river, atmospheric. Great to see a vinyl record player knocking out the tunes. Good range of beers including Adnams. Bar meals, fish and chips burgers. Indoor seating for around 20. I would return again cosy, comfortable and good service
Lovely roast dinner here! Plus excellent staff. The young lady behind the bar, Libby, was very accommodating of our needs/wants and offered us a great range of drinks. Top service. Compliments to the chef too. Best roast dinner you will find!
A nice river side pub but another cashless venue under big brother surveillance. Good pint of Barsham Norfolk Topper citrus ale st 3.8%. Casta and Jorvic think the pint is micro chipped.
Booked a table to eat there on a Friday evening before going to a concert. The table wasn't ready when I arrived at the booked time so I had to wait at the bar while a table was prepared. The menu was much shorter than the sample menu on the website and contained only 4 mains, three of which were types of burger. I ordered a chicken burger £14, which seemed to be a high quality burger with real unprocessed chicken and a good breadcrumb coating, but unfortunately it had been overcooked to a burnt crisp, and was barely edible. They have a good selection of beers and the barmen were fine.
Quite slow service although expected due to how busy it was so wasn’t too much of an issue for us. Great set of bartenders here, good knowledge, friendly and up for a chat. Superb fish and chips. Will definitely be visiting again
Great pub for drinking. The bartender was amazing - the keg finished half way through the beer and the beer was on the house. Ive also had food here before and their basic menu eslecially the fish and chips was top notch.
Really lovely vibes here: on the river, cute cosy decor, good selection of drinks. What let The Mill down was the food. As someone from London even I found the price super high, especially for the quality of the food. The menu was quite limited and normally I’d expect a small menu to mean what they do do is done very well. The nachos were £13 and not very flavourful, it seemed a bit like the toppings were store bought like those tubs of guac that are super smooth haha and the squid was flavourless and you only got 4ish bits for £9. Shame!
Excellent food and excellent ale. Pleasant atmosphere. If I ever return to Cambridge, I shall definitely eat and drink there.
Sadly I can’t talk about the food as we didn’t have the chance to eat. I called saying we were coming and to reserve the tables and they said that, even if we couldn’t be seated all in one table, that there was space for us close to each other. When we arrive, we could all have fit in the back room but the waiter same person I spoke on the phone let another group that just arrived along with us, hadn’t reserved and could have seated anywhere else in the pub, sat there without saying anything. When we ask for explanation she simply said “I can’t tell customers where to sit” But you could put “reserve” as there were other reserved signs in the pub… We had to leave and spend another and look for another space. Such a pity as the food looks nice
