I agree mostly with previous reviewers...Good food, lovely place. However, when we arrived a birthday bash was being set up and we were pretty well ignored by all of the staff as the "event" seemed to be VERY important - even though it was two and a half hours away! We had to almost force someone to serve us - otherwise definitely would have given 5* rating.
Really delicious roast dinner! Good vegetarian options. Pub has a lovely atmosphere but was very warm inside. Would definitely like to visit again.
LADIES WHO LUNCH! 8 of us turned up at the Milk House last week and we had a wonderful lunch. The fish cake went down very well. The service was quick and excellent. The hostess charming. Well worth a visit.
Went for dinner last night as we keep passing this place and it looked really nice. Booked a table for 4 at 8pm on a Friday night and the place was buzzing but not busy. Turned up and the wait staff showed us to our table and then seemed to forget about us for about 10 minutes. We had to flag down a waitress to order our drinks and food. 3 of us had the crab and crayfish mac and cheese, but honestly it was more just seafood pasta which was a bit dry and lacked the 'cheese' element. No one checked in on us and the wait staff seemed very disinterested with our table with little customer service. The desserts were okay as well, the creme brulee didn't have much flavour and the other 3 desserts were hard as if they had been taken out of the freezer too late and made it difficult to eat them. Overall, the place itself is beautiful and definitely somewhere to come for a drink in the summer but I would not be coming back here to eat.
A really excellent village pub that is way better than it has any right to be. We have a dog and love popping in there after a walk. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, and outside, where food is also served, though outside has a slightly different menu to the bar and restaurant. Really delicious food and really great atmosphere, definitely one to check out.
Fantastic local pub and restaurant. Food is always amazing. Pizzas are delicious in the summer and their seasonal menu great in the colder months. Friendly staff always happy to help.
Great little country pub We didn't stay but both the food and drink were great. Plenty of walking nearby and we would definitely come again next time we are passing. Walkability: We visited by walking from nearby Cranbrook was easy to get to Food & drinks: Food was very nice, presented well and tasted great.
The pizza was yummy! And the fries were amazing. Wish I had some space more to try the dessertsService: 4/5
Stopped for lunch today and it was fantastic. It was very busy, but didn't have to wait too long for the food! Very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back!
What an awesome place! Stayed overnight for a wedding: huge, pristine, gorgeous room; lovely staff who let us check in early; great breakfast; gave us a cot for our baby; very easy, flexible booking process. Honestly can’t think of a single thing they got wrong. Absolutely brilliant
