One of my favourite restaurants of all time!! Food, service, atmosphere, everything was 10/10, couldn't fault anything! Went there recently for a birthday meal/date and it was perfect! Food was phenomenal, full of flavour, fresh and hot. The staff are so friendly, never had such good customer service in a restaurant. When they bought over my girlfriend's dessert, they put sparklers in there despite it not being requested and they sung happy birthday to her. This made her day and she was very happy with the meal and dining experience overall. Our server's name was Dennis, and we did have him when we dined here the first time. His service is excellent, the most polite, smiley man I have had serve me at a restaurant. So if you are served by him then consider yourself extra lucky! Love this place and I will happily go back there again and again. I most definitely recommend it!
My family and I had a lovely meal at Maxwell's. The booking was efficient, we were seated quickly and treated with smiles from all the staff. The food was delicious but the star of the show was the cocktails. We also enjoyed the 90s vibe music that was playing. We thought it was quite clever that the bill broke down the price per person for those who were splitting. All in all a great experience. Vegetarian options: There were quite a few Veggie and Vegan options on the menu Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome until 9.30pm
Excellent meal last night. Prawns for starters, well cooked. A tasty New York burger for main. Staff were welcoming on arrival, accommodating our request to sit upstairs. The waitress polite and friendly. Food arrived in a timely manner. Will revisit.
We went to dinner here on Friday night our table was booked for 8.40, the lady who greeted us was absolutely lovely, we was seated very quickly. For the starter we got the sharing board delicious, main my partner ordered the steak said the portion was quite small. I had the Maxwell's Old Timer burger with Sweet Potatoes fries so good. I also ordered the Salted Caramel Freakshake, the donut it was was very dry, didn't enjoy it. The milkshake I could quite taste the salt in the Caramel but overall it was enjoyable. Service was very good, a few misses where was had to remind the waitress for cutlery, for the menu again to order more drinks. Took a little bit to get someone attention for the bill and to pay.
A typical American decor with the food matching the ambiance - the quantity per serving was big. The burgers had juicy patties and the accompanying fries were crispy as well. The orange lights added to the Halloween effect. There was a slight delay in bringing one of the drinks we ordered but apart from that, I would recommend this place!
The Big Shot burger was gigantic and tasty. It came with bacon gravy, which worked perfectly on the fries. Freakshake was exactly what I needed. Had a good table for a bunch of us eating. I just feel that the service was lacking. Everyone got their drinks apart from me and two others who were waiting on our milkshakes. Food came for everyone but me, and I was just sitting there awkwardly with no drink and no food. So hungry. Finally the food came, and then eventually the milkshake. The burger had onions in it, which I specifically asked the waitress not to add. Milkshake was so worth it though.
Lovely, cosy venue, has a bit of an American Diner vibe with the menu and decor in harmony. Great selection of cocktails, all very reasonably priced for the West End and delicious too. Brilliant vegan food - my partner said the fries were the best he’d had in his life and he loved the burger. Amazing ice cream sundae too! Friendly staff and it was busy but not loud. Will definitely return.
The staff were amazing and found us a table. We hadn't booked and they were very busy. The drinks were great - cocktails were amazing, and the food was spot on. The sharing Nacho's were a hit with us. We all enjoyed it. We did find the seating/dining area under a raised floor was a little noisy, especially as there was a big group celebrating.
My girlfriend recommended this restaurant to me so thought I would give it a try, and after my dining experience here, it is clear to see why she suggested it. The location is fantastic, located in Covent Garden, one of the most beautiful and historic places in London. The restaurant was very easy to find and from the outside it looked stunning. My girlfriend and I were looking at the menu outside when we were greeted by this voice, which took us by surprise, only to find it was a host from the restaurant who was saying how they had great burgers. We then asked him if we could start our booked meal slightly earlier than the time we had booked for, to which he said was not a problem, so we were taken inside. It looked lovely inside, it boasted style and class, just like the area in which Maxwell's is located. We were shown to our table straight away, unfortunately my request to have a candle lit table for whatever reason was not possible, which was a shame as it was Valentines Day so it would have given it that more romantic touch. We then received our food and drinks that we ordered in a reasonably quick time. I ordered the halloumi sticks to start, and my goodness...I don't even have any words for how heavenly they were. I have had halloumi sticks in many different restaurants, but out all of the ones I have ever had, they were my favourite. The Buffalo Mayo sauce I think that was drizzled on top...wow! My main was the mac n' cheese, whilst my girlfriend ordered a burger. My mac n' cheese was absolutely phenomenal, it was very tasty and the crispy onion on top just gave it more flavour and that crunchy element. My girlfriend was very happy with her burger and fries too. We were considering ordering a dessert, but we just had no room left! Our server was friendly, polite and smiley and provided us with excellent customer service. He went the extra mile and he played a part in making mine and my girlfriends valentines date that little bit more special, therefore we gave him a tip. Only downside to the whole experience was what I mentioned above with not being able to have a candlelit table. They did however have lots of red heart balloons dotted around the restaurant so that was a nice touch. If you want a reasonably priced, delicious meal, then I would highly recommend choosing Maxwells. A truly amazing dining experience and definitely a restaurant that I would go back to again.
Table for 10 pre booked. Friendly welcoming staff. Had to wait a few minutes for them to clear and reset table. Drinks order arrived promptly food was a little slower but they were very busy as you would expect on a Saturday evening. Everyone enjoyed their meals especially the milkshake deserts. Would visit again but booking is a must
