"The Market Bar is Dublin's favourite tapas restaurant and event venue. Our spacious, comfortable bar and restaurant is located on Fade Street, the heart of social Dublin. We have live music every weekend and cool tunes from Dublin’s best DJs late into the night. Upstairs the Black Market Bar and Cocktail lounge is a great party venue available for exclusive hire. Our heated outside space, The Courtyard, is available for lunch, drinks and bar food. The Market Bar Group also includes The Chelsea Drugstore and basement club on South Great George's Street and Idlewild Bar on Fade Street, the Social Heart of Dublin."

Expensive brunch 14€ poached eggs and very small portion drowned in mayo not tasty IMO. The lunch tapas deals 17€ is better priced but still a bit crazy for the tiny amount of food you get. Would be great with some more dairy free filling options. Beautiful location and nice jazz live band.
"It's bigger on the inside!" - Doctor Who Probably the biggest brunch place I've been to in that area and such a great vibe! The lunch deal they have on weekdays I think is a great bargain. There is a wide choice of cocktails to choose from and of course, Guinness on tap : Friendly staff, quick service and delicious food. What else do you need? 10/10 would recommend. I'll be visiting again for sure!
A really nice place to go with friends, the atmosphere was amazing staff also very friendly, nice drinks and food. Was very crowded but really nice food came very quickly. They have some special offers to lunch and dinner highly recommend this option. The music it's a apart chapter, different styles for all tastes. Vegetarian options: Everything come described in the menu. Parking: No parking around the bar only a few block's ahead. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant has accessibility. Dietary restrictions: Everything was described in the menu.
We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat so we wandered up here to the Market Bar for a little bit of everything and what a decision we made!! The customer service, the atmosphere, the artwork and the staff's shirts matched the food...amazing!! It feels a little out of the way bit so worth the walk, everything we had from the Mushrooms to the Aubergine to the chicken was simply mouthwatering, definitely returning on our next visit.
Always reliable and kind service. The owner personally sat me at a table and ensured I was well taken care of and the tapas were amazing. One of my tapas dishes was taking longer than expected. So the restaurant brought out potatoes bravas on the house to apologize for the wait. Class establishment that treats their customers well.Recommended dishesGambas Pil Pil, Patatas Bravas
I had a great time last Friday having dinner in The Market Bar with my friends. The food and the drinks were amazing! Giselle our waitress was kind and quickly. I also love the bathroom decoration, the music and the beautiful lights hanging in the restaurant Lovely place to go, I highly recommend
Although most of my trip to Ireland is a blur, too many trips to Temple Bar the one thing that stayed clear is how good the food was! Never heard of Beans and Mash until I got there and now I'm addicted! Market Bar mixes all of Ireland into one, bottomless booze and amazing food! I definitely suggest hopping over there on any trip through Dublin!
Stumbled across this bar behind what looked like a locked door. Cheeky Irish coffee for the better half and an IPA for me. Lovely warm staff. V quiet didn’t eat perhaps dishes a little to expensive?
Really good place to get tapas and wine. It is not very pricey as other places are, and service is great. Great value for the money we spent there. Absolutely recommend!
Me and my girlfriend had lunch at Market Bar and our experience was not great. First off, we were asked to sit on a table of 6 with 4 other random strangers, when the whole venue - which for anyone unfamiliar is fairly large and certainly capable of more than 70 other seats - and was mostly empty at the time we visited around 3pm which makes very little sense since in that this is happening short of a pandemic. Nowhere on the menu does the "lunch portion" say the portions are smaller than the regular "hot plates" portion, so we assumed the lunch menu would be enough and much to our disappointment, our dishes were all so small we both came away hungry from the restaurant. The meatballs that once used to be a sizeable portion were now only 4 meatballs, the calamari had bits that were just the batter without the actual fish but otherwise were remarkable. The potatoes were oily and had certainly been cooked hours before as they tasted redone -- we left them entirely, and the chicken wings were just an underwhelming portion but decent otherwise. Each lunch menu had also a starter of bread with two dips, but only one serving of bread was given and we had to request the second serving. So overall, from the main menu, 2/4 dishes were decent. When the bill comes see attached picture it states the bill including a gratuity comes to 38.25, but if you don't wish to pay gratuity they would need to call manager. So, considering the experience and the food was pretty *not* recommendable, I didn't feel a tip was in order and asked to pay without leaving a gratuity, though I did not feel like reprimanding the service because apart from being the usual slow and trying to pack us with a group of 4, they didn't do anything note-worthy causing me to bother with a review such as this or not returning to this restaurant. The staff called the manager who promptly came by with the card machine. He unblocked the contention around the tip straight away, by proceeding to take the payment, which was superb, but the awkwardness ensued when, despite the "cumbersomeness" of having a manager mediate a tip-less payment, he showed zero interest in why we did not wish to leave the tip already included on the bill - not even in whether we enjoyed the food or the service, absolutely nothing. This clearly shows their interest does not lie in improving their service, it's only to create a subterfuge to dissuade customers from refraining to pay less than the included gratuity. We were both customers since 2008. This is no longer a restaurant we will be using or recommending going forward.
