Was walking by, saw a sign for Weihenstephaner, it's on tap!! And it's authentic, very cloudy, sweet taste, haven't been able to find it this good in the export bottles. Also the oak is on the main drag, google has it slightly off in maps.
Lots of craft brews on tap, great selection. It wasn't too crowded at 8PM to sit at the bar.
The oak used to be a nice bar. Now it's suffered from the current erosion of anything that was representative of true Dublin. I even had my pint of Guinness served up to me in one single pour. Say no more!
Great restaurant ! We loved it... The decoration is beautiful, it's almost impossible to choose of the menu! Everything is a modern version of traditional Irish plates and the products are local. Nice cocktails and wine selection. Of course I recommend this place!
We visited this place while in Dublin and stopped here on a recommendation from someone walking around. It was a very nice place but it was very busy and around holiday timing so it took us a while to get in. They were understaffed for the traffic and the wait staff were not very attentive. We would have drank and ate more but it just took so long. The food was good but expensive, if you're not on a budge this was a good place to stop.
We sat at the bar and had drinks and a dish. Jame and ging was made nicely. The female bartender is who served us. She was very polite, friendly, and helpful. The portobello mushroom tasted delicious. The sweet potato was my favorite part of this dish! We would definitely revisit this bar if we find ourselves back in Dublin.
The Oak is a nice café bar with a great irish atmosphere. We enjoyed a late dinner shepards pie and panfried chicken with mushroom and bacon sauce and creamt mashed potatoes - and of course beer! The food was great and the beer fresh, and it gives you an awesome irish atmosphere! I'd highly recommend this place, and would def go back!
There seem to be mixed views on whether the Ivy delivered in Dublin but I had 2 great meals there to date and it never disappointed. From luxurious decor through attentive service to great food it’s actually great value for money in Dublin where you could easily spent the same in a neighbourhood restaurant.
Original went a few days ago around 12 in the afternoon looking for some food and told “we should be serving around 12:30 maybe or possibly 13:00 depending when chef comes in”. So we went elsewhere. That should have told us everything we needed to know! Stupidly we went this afternoon, ordering food and drinks, nothing major, only chicken wings, 2x toasties, sweet potatoes fries and a Cesar wrap. When ordering the wrap we were asked if we wanted chips or soup? Same for the toasties and the group went for chips. Food was brought out at different times at different temperatures which was disappointing given we had the wait circa 40 minutes for something which takes a short time to make. Plus the drinks only came when the food came even after asking several time where the drinks were! When we asked it the bill we found the chips were all extra at €4 which wasn’t made clear on the menus or by the staff asking the questions originally. We were able to explain this eventually getting them removed, but it took what’s should have been a nice meal into something giving us a headache. Personally wouldn’t go back but I hope others have a positive experience. It’s a slight blip to an otherwise lovely long weekend stay.
Terrible place. Bottles on tables cans etc. From customers long gone. . Tv showing dating show on full volume and different music on full. Place empty.. that speaks volumes. 4 on a Saturday. Never pop in again
