Welcome to The Malt Shovel – 'The Inn Place to be'

At The Malt Shovel we have something for everyone!

From our tempting selection of real ales, beers and fine wines to our recently revamped 'Chill & Grill' Restaurant offering some of the finest home cooked meals, USA style grills and burgers, as well as our brand new carvery service, and Indian buffet nights.

Based in Highley near Bridgnorth and just a stones throw away from Bewdley, Cleobury & Ludlow, our idyllic location and outstanding views make it the ideal venue for business or pleasure, for dining or enjoying a relaxing drink with friends.

Walk through the door and feel the warm, friendly atmosphere - From the relaxing Lounge bar to the vibrant Sports bar. Add to this the panoramic Restaurant area and elevated al fresco decking area, the Malt Shovel is a very versatile place, with views and sunsets that take your breath away.

With a very active entertainment schedule from our 'Rhythm & Booze' indoor or marquee venues, every weekend is party time at The Malt, with many diverse acts, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

With BT Sports and many large screens and projectors, you'll always have somewhere to come and watch the big games with a fantastic atmosphere too.


Whether it’s a quick lunch, a bite after work, a social gathering or celebration, a private dinner or just for drinks, The Malt Shovel is 'the inn place to be'.

We are a dog friendly country pub and welcome walkers, cyclists, motorcycle, car and sporting clubs to use our spacious facilities and large car park and are always able to cater for regular meetings and special events. Coach Parties are welcome by appointment.
