We stayed in the Seton Lodge at Barra Castle for 1 night. It was stunning inside, very modern but with a countryside feel. Our lodge was right outside Barra Castle which could be seen as you entered the premises. There was car parking outside the lodge which was very convenient. The lodge was very clean and full of bathroom supplies including Arran Aromatics products. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need- we made chocolate dipped strawberries on our visit. The bed itself was very comfortable with a skylight window above it to stargaze. There was fantastic communication from the host Sarah, who had everything ready for our arrival and replied to my messages instantly. The lodge is situated a short distance from Inverurie where we dined on Saturday night Fennel Restaurant. In the morning we visited the Barra farm shop for a coffee and croissant which we took on a walk of the castle grounds. Overall, a fantastic stay which I would recommend to anyone.
We have an absolutely lovely stay. Although the buildings were really very old and had a lot of history, the rooms Had all been upgraded had fabulous design. We were delighted with great water pressure. We only stayed one night but it was a great location. The cafe next door was delicious and everything was fresh. We live in a city over from what is supposed to be a strawberry capital of the world and I beg to differ. The berries including strawberries, were fabulous some of the best of ever eaten.
Good value food and very decent portion sizes. Lovely staff members, it was busy but I didnt feel at risk at all. Decent spacing between tables and everyone complying with the rules. Also sells a small range of products in their farm shop with possibly the largest raspberries I've ever seen. Will definitely be back it was well worth the drive out.
If you looking for a place to relax , its the place to be! The one turn off is they had dogs that were around the guest premises walking freely and one of them came and popped my kids ball ,we had to buy a new one so they stop crying . They should just be more careful. We didn't even get an apology
Great place to stop for a bite to eat or just a coffee & a fine piece, food is also served here, ice creams looked very tasty & freshly made, there is also a farm shop here too, seating is provided inside & outside, very friendly staff & reasonably priced. Be prepared to wait in a queue for a little while before you get in but I'm sure it would be worth the wait.
The perfect place to spend a few nights. Absolutely beautiful interiors and lovely touches. Perfectly clean and oh so stylish. Would return in a heartbeat! Don't miss the breakfast basket - - truly one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten!
Great place to get coffee and fine cakes and tray bakes. Staff friendly, helpful and polite. It's a busy place get in early.
They have very good ice cream. None of the usual like vanilla or chocolate but they incorporate real fruit into it
Brilliant venue for a wedding, very friendly and helpful stafff, would highly recommend it,Rooms: 5/5
Nice place but waited 40 minutes for our food to come the bread for sandwiches was hard as though they had been sitting out for a long time
