What a great local pub! You often don't see places like this anymore, and I honestly wish I lived in Trellech just for this reason alone. Open fire and friendly staff, cozy and local with a great selection of beers, cider and ale. Food was outstanding. I recommend the Lamb Shank . Plenty of parking and it looked like a tented area was erected for the summer. 100% worth the visit if your near by. Food & drinks: Exceeded my expectations for a local pub. All homemade foods with a spectacular presentation. Noteworthy details: Open fire, cozy and friendly.
A beautiful old pub that’s got a lovely big fire and very cosy inside. Food was delicious and the service was amazing. Definitely recommend for a pub meal or even a drink by the fire Shame we live afar from it otherwise I’d know it’d be my local watering hole!
Fantastic local pub with a great atmosphere. We parked up overnight in our campervan and were welcomed with open arms on a Monday night. We expected a sleepy pub, we got a fun and fantastic open mic night with people from far and wide. The food was great and you could tell cooked with love. If we are passing your way we will be back.
Whether it's just a pint after work or a meal with family/friends the lion always has the right vibe. All this made sure of, with a big cozy fire, good ales, and a range of food, pub classics as well as regular specials! Couldn't ask for a better local!

Second time here and we love their roast dinners and desert,its a lovely pub,staff are friendly and pleasant ,great how they have got a small dinner for a smaller appetite like myself and my friend shared the lovely Jam sponge with custard, I would recommend.
Dropped in for a quick refreshments whilst on an afternoon walk. Friendly atmosphere n cozy log fire on a chilly day. 2 half's of cider and 2 packets of crisps £7 - bit pricy, but nice traditional village pub. Would visit again.

Stopped on our way to Cardigan amazing little pub, and one of the best pies I’ve had in the UK!
Took my uncle for a birthday Sunday lunch. What can I say except outstanding. One of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had. The lamb was to die for..succulent and tender. The dining area is quite small but staff have definitely made the most of the space without making you feel cramped or uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. Well done..would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely country inn.
