We had a table reserved but it took 1.5 hours to get our food. When we asked the owner how much longer it would be he said “ There were three tables in front of you, it’s just how it goes”. We were not impolite, it wasn’t that busy, it was a Tuesday night and it made us feel quite uncomfortable like we’d been out of line enquiring. Our table was cleared but no desert was offered. Food was nice but a very poor service. Shame.
We came past here for a bite to eat and were pleased with the menu as it had a few vegan options. We had the vegan burger and dhotdog which were both amazing. The staff were friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere with music on a Friday night. Will definitely be back here again next time we visit Faversham.
Food took over an hour to arrive - all fairly simple dishes to make e.g sandwiches. When I eventually enquired, the waitress said they ‘were just pulling it together now.’ Food came out bit by bit across the 10 mins that followed. They were also missing a lot of different dishes - we had vegetarians with us, and couple of dishes were unavailable. Food was pretty tasty and pretty good value for money - but the wait time was excessive. Alongside this, we sat in the restaurant, which was empty, apart from loud music - if I was going to go again, I’d eat in the bar - they maybe forgot about us? As a side note, I do feel a bit bad for the server, who had to tell us that our table was needed at 6, despite us, at 5:45, saying we wanted desserts. He was clearly a nice guy and just doing his job, the food was not his fault - he did take drinks off though. We appreciated the gesture. Vegetarian options: Limited options - some were unavailable on the day. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available with a colouring sheet.
Service was pleasant and efficient but the burger was the main highlight!! Yes, you do have to pay extra for the fries but not the first time I’ve had to do that. Would definitely go back.
The food was good but service was very slow. It took more than an hour for our food to arrive, which was challenging with 2 young children in our group. They did apologize for it, but we still felt disappointed. Vegetarian options: Good selection of veggie options.
Good food, nice set up. But still attracts a knob crowd occasionally. No management presence to weed out the loud mouthed lager louts. EDIT: foods gone downhill, used to be a nice place for it but now it's only a notch up from the Spoons down the road at three times the price. Reducing stars.Food: 2/5
A decent Shepherd Neame pub. Food is very good as is the service, I had steak and chips with a side salad and it was cooked perfectly. Everything is to a higher standard and more professional than you get in a lot of pubs these days. Will definitely be returning.
Absolutely recommend the Rooster burger piri piri chicken and if your really hungry the loaded fries are fantastic! The menu is a mix of Burgers, sharing plates, tortilla wraps and loaded fries, with some pretty wicked desserts too!
Top class food delicious. Lovely staff nice setting amd top class pints!!Food: 5/5
A group of us had a very pleasant afternoon in a lovely venue. Friendly helpful staff, very nice lunch with very good service.Food: 5/5
