From reading some of these very similar reviews I wholeheartedly hope others will at least have the cognition to form their own opinions and give this place a chance.

What a wonderful bunch of people here. Very welcoming! My food was cooked to perfection  as usual and my children absolutely loved it. Looking forward to our next cheeky opportunity to have a takeaway!

To use my 3 year old’s word “disgusting”. Would definitely not go back here again. Gave it a go as it’s “under new management”, tried it twice previously and wasn’t at all impressed, could never see why it was always so busy. Chips must have been cooked and reheated many times......dark brown and swimming in oil. Husband commented his pie “appeared to have a biscuit top” as it flew off the plate when he tried to cut into it. Not often I see my toddler spiting out her sausages and chips, saying “I don’t like it”. £3.50 for salt and pepper chips with the weirdest sour taste......not in a good way.
Saving grace was the curry sauce. Curry sauce sandwich for dinner anyone???? 
Should have know when perusing the notices on the wall that a lengthy explanation of the refund policy was not the best advertisement.....

This was once the best chippy in the area up until recently. Went last week and the fish & chips were awful, greasy and just warm. Thought we’d try again last night for tea as maybe last time was a one off, sorry we did, what a waste of money. A chips and sausage missing from the order despite paying for it, chips half cooked, fish dry and swimming with grease and all of it only just warm. Never again.

What a shame this place has gone downhill since the takeover. It's very close to our doorstep and was a great option when we didn't feel like cooking. We've been 3 times since the takeover and each time tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but ended up more than disappointed on every occasion. The food just isn't the quality it used to be, Chinese or chips. Twice out of the three times we've had items missing from out order too. We were regulars but will unfortunately now be going elsewhere.

Had food here tonight for the second time since it's been took over, the food is absolutely appalling, I couldn't tell if the chips were undercooked or cooked twice and not cooked long enough, had sweet and sour and the chicken was like chewing a boot, gave them the benefit of the doubt first time as they had just opened, second time round it's just as bad so it will be our last. It was dead in here too so I can't be the only one thinking this, a massive shame, this place used to be immense and heaving on a Saturday night!!
