Lovely traditional village pub in an historic thatched building. Great range of beers and good food at reasonable prices. Super staff and great service. Nice restaurant and plenty of outdoor tables for summer days. All good
My wife and I recently got married on quite short notice and were worried we'd be unable to find a venue to cater for our family and friends. Thankfully, The Kings Head was able to accommodate us and they couldn't have created a better space for us. They gave us our own area at the back and went above and beyond what we expected to make the place special for us photo attached. The staff were lovely and were able to fulfil any request we had throughout the night. This is the first review I've ever left, purely because the service we receive here was exceptional. 5 stars, would recommend to anyone seeking a great pub serving excellent food, or even to anyone looking for an intimate, special venue to celebrate their marriage. Couldn't be more grateful to the owners and staff.
Lovely friendly place to eat & excellent food. There was a mix up with my lunch but the staff was really good & resolved the issue. Very happy with the service & will definitely be back.
Great pub in a lovely quiet village. Good choice of food, we had the sandwiches which had lots of filling, came with salad and freshly cooked chips.
We have visited twice this year. Once on a Sunday and once on Saturday. We arrived an hour before end of service Sunday and found the food disappointing though the desserts were delicious. The service was excellent. On our Saturday visit at 7.30pm we found the food to be better, excellent in fact. The service however was slow. We had to wait so long for the table to be cleared then again for our dessert order to be taken we gave up and left without having dessert. Third time lucky maybe??
We have always enjoyed visiting the Kings Head. Our first visit 45 years ago to celebrate our engagement. Our last visit was a little disappointing. The staff were fab, very friendly and attentive but the bread our sandwiches were made from was hard and dry. Best chips ever, as always
Disappointed We have eaten here on a couple of occasions during summer last year - 2022 We loved the food , the burgers were gorgeous! But this occasion was a let down . Chicken and Ham pie - so dry with no sauce inside, just meat and pastry - with a massive pile of dried peas, classic burger was also dry , sauce had disappeared into the bun as was hardly any in it, very little flavour, salad had an awful dressing on, so vinegary you couldn't eat it. New chef is not the best, had rave music going on in the kitchen shame as its a lovely building and area.
We had a great meal here. They had a huge seating area located at the back of the pub where we ate. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were attentive and really helped accommodate my two sons.
Saw the recommended walks and pub in this village. Got a local recommendation of the seafood platter. Food was excellent. The inside of the pub is quite modern if you are expecting very old. Beer and wine were excellent too. Highly recommended.
I was part of a group of around that booked for lunch.. We pre ordered from a reduced but good menu that included vegan options. Everybody was served within a few minutes. Lambs Liver with Bacon and Onion Gravy was excellent as was a Creme Brulee. Nobody had problems with food or service. A place to return to.
