Have had a couple of very good meals here, including a Sunday lunch, and it's generally friendly and decent. Bit variable, though.nnQuick lunch deal today saw good food and friendly service at a reasonable price.nnLunch some time ago was a bit of a miss, though - fish and chips was all greasy batter and not much fish, with the fish all very overcooked we had both an adult and a children's portion, and the child in question loves fish and chips, but declared this one inedible. Chicken burger was better, but was also rather overcooked and dry, and would have benefitted from half the amount of coleslaw and the addition of some other green salad or similar. Also had to wait an awfully long time for food well over an hour after we walked in, despite two young children in tow. Maybe they were having an off day in the kitchen.
Came here again today amazing hospitality and warm welcome from Jordon Throughout my visit..nnPlace looks stunning... And warm cosy fire really made the place feel very homelynnPrevious feedback........nnSuperb hospitality from Tara and the staff.nnThis place looks fantastic... Really clean and inviting.nnThe king's head serves a huge selection of wines and bottled beers aswell as the usual tipples.nnA live fire really brings the warm cosy feel to the whole pub.nnThis is a great pub with great people.nnVery tasty coffee
We had a meal here tonight very underwhelming. First of all they run out of Calamari at 7pm. The burger tastes very cheap, the sauce tasted like McDonald's and doesn't warrant a £20 price tag, no salad or coleslaw very mediocre. When we asked for onions rings they don't serve them and run out of mustard. Steak come with chips, mushrooms and tomato again no veg or onion rings. At £90 been to a lot better places to eat and standards higher.
An absolutely fantastic pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 9, including two large dogs, making us feel truly valued. The food was exceptional, and the entire experience was relaxing and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine hospitality and great food!
Visited the Kings Head earlier today for lunch with my son. We really enjoyed our lunch. We shared the baked Camembert to start which was lovely and very filling. I had the double burger and my son had the chicken burger.nnI would say that their chicken burger was the absolute star of the show. Looked and tasted amazing and the fried chicken was much larger than expected.nnSadly my beef burger wasn’t quite as good but still pretty decent. It was maybe a little dry for my liking but still 4/5.nnOverall we really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely recommend.
