We thought we'd try the place as it had been newly refurbished. Looks really nice inside. Ambience was a little lacking as there was a draught of cold air circling all night, even though there was a great big fire place that could have been lit to raise the warmth and feel of the place.nOur server was lovely and helpful although there were no serviettes on the table and it took a while to receive things despite there being only 4 tables occupied. The food sadly was the most underwhelming. We started with hallloumi, rocket and a honey dip, but it came without rocket. Our meals were nice but the fishcakes were rather bland, only tasted better with the hollandaise sauce and the pasta was too spicy. Hopefully things will pick up as they will continue to find their feet
Came here tonight. The waitress was extremely attentive and polite. Even though the tables were reserved the waitress still managed to squeeze us in. The steak we ordered was amazing,cooked to perfection. The whole meal was amazing and not too overpriced. Will be back as soon to try something else off the menu. Hats off to the chef and the waitress.
A very friendly pub with staff who make you feel so welcome. Took my dad for lunch to celebrate his 80th birthday. Good food, service with a smile and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Had lunch here today, 4 of us in total. The pub has been re furbished, to a high standard, really nice and clean. Jo and her staff were, very welcoming and friendly. The new menu was, varied and very reasonably, priced. Myself and hubby, had the steak pie which came with mash and broccoli, with a jug of delicious gravy, my husband had chips, our friends had the hunters chicken and pea rissotto All looked good. Would happily go back and would highly recommend. Good luck to all involved
Came here Boxing Day with my family that were visiting, the food was proper pub food. Everyone finished their meals and were very happy, highly recommend!
