Story

The Kings Head Hotel is in the heart of the Yorkshrie market town of Richmond. Originally opened in 1717 as a gentleman's townhouse, the once great coaching inn is due to be restored to it's former glory by it's new owner The Coaching Inn Group, who bought the hotel in 2016.

It was my birthday and my husband and I came to the Kings Head Hotel, Richmond for a meal. The service was amazing. Everyone was very welcoming and made you feel special.nI chose the pie of the day coronation chicken and the croissant pear and chocolate bread and butter pudding. Oh my, I wanted to marry the chef. I have never in my life had such an amazing pie, I've eaten a lot of pies, the pudding was equally as amazing.nAlly our waitress was caring and looked after us throughout the meal .nWe will keep returning.
We stayed for two nights with friends. A beautiful old building centrally located for exploring Richmond and both rooms were lovely. Nice toiletries and a selection of teas with a coffee machine. The star of this establishment has to be the staff though. Laura in particular looked after us extremely well - insisting on squeezing us in for a meal on our first night as we were residents even though the restaurant was busy. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at the King's head Richmond. The staff we're very welcoming providing a professional friendly service nothing was too much trouble. Our room was warm comfortable and very quiet perfect for a great night's sleep. We had an evening meal & Sunday lunch both meals very nice especially the Sunday lunch. The service on the Sunday was faultless all the staff we're extremely friendly and gave excellent service. Amy & Millie looked after us and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They made us feel very comfortable and offered perfect service. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Overall this hotel was accommodating and our room beautiful!nn- Beautiful big room, comfy bedn- Fantastic food for dinner and breakfastn- Laura was exceptionaln- Accommodated our baby staying with us last minuten- Valentines set up was lovely and thoughtfulnnOnly negatives were: no staff available to check us out, specials board blank and bathroom not clean enough.nnWould recommend to friends and family however and would return if we were in the area.
I can only offer a review of the room my wife and I shared which I can only describe as tired with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and plaster missing from both the front corners of the bay window.nIt was not what we were expecting from a 4* hotel.nThe window cill on the inside of the room had been repaired but not painted or the excess filler removed and it did not appear to be a recent repair.nThe staff were excellent and helpful and the location couldn’t have been better but I believe the quality of the room we were given left a lot to be desired.
