Story

The Kings Head Hotel is in the heart of the Yorkshrie market town of Richmond. Originally opened in 1717 as a gentleman's townhouse, the once great coaching inn is due to be restored to it's former glory by it's new owner The Coaching Inn Group, who bought the hotel in 2016.

Food was dreadful. Soup was salty and didn't taste fresh. Bread was stale. The Vegetarian burger was shop bought and frozen. Would not come back in a hurry.

Food amazing rooms amazing cocktails very good .only thing that lets the place down is some( and I say some as some were great) of the staff .stood around the bar just ignoring customers .didn't know how to make the cocktails and just generally looked like they couldn't be bothered one staff member in particular was a blonde haired young girl looked like she was possibly training as a manager, as was in a dark suit, rather than waistcoat and jeans like other staff members,she had a real can't be bothered attitude , ignored us at the bar on several occasions not even a I will be with you in a minute, just totally ignored us for up to 15 mins on one occasion . she didn't even know how to put one of the gin and tonics together , then didn't know how to put it through the till God help her if she was to become a manager. The lady that served us breakfast was totally fantastic as was the duty manager and one of the other waiters longer curly hair possibly foreign. Really need to train some of their staff in customer services issues though

Had mid week lunch after a riverside walk in Richmond. The food was delicious , freshly cooked and tasty.... relaxed atmosphere in luxury surroundings

After meeting friends for a walk with the dogs we visited for drinks and food. Dog friendly in the bar area so had some drinks and Sunday roast while the dogs had a nap around the table. Very nice place. Friendly staff and warming atmosphere.

Fire lit in lounge makes such a difference. Love receiving maltesers wuth hot drink. Maybe need to check toilets a little more frequently.
