Story

The Kings Head Hotel is in the heart of the Yorkshrie market town of Richmond. Originally opened in 1717 as a gentleman's townhouse, the once great coaching inn is due to be restored to it's former glory by it's new owner The Coaching Inn Group, who bought the hotel in 2016.

Great location, right on the Market Square, with lovely decking area to sit outside.nOur room 211 was down a pokey corridor, so 1st impressions not good, however once inside it wasn’t too bad - could do with a bit of TLC and a lick of paint but a nice large room with large on-suite and clean. Down side was no lift, so quite a few stairs to conquer to get to 2nd floor.nStaff were all lovely, nothing too much trouble.nWorth a visit to the Green Howard’s museum opposite the hotel - very interesting and well impressed with the medal room.nOverall had a really nice stay at the Kings Head.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch for 7. Starters were nice but a long time arriving. Main course was generally nice in taste but food wasn't very warm. They also overdid the red cabbage on your plate. We had to comment to staff who changed one meal and gave a discount. Overall we were rather disappointed.
We celebrated our 10 year Vow Renewals here last weekend and all at The King's Head made it such a memorable weekend for us.nEvery member of staff were amazing!nJames was fantastic with all the planning.nFood, fantastic thankyou chefs! The Yorkshire Tapas!!!!nOur guests were blown away by everything!!!nThe reception room was stunning!nThe bedrooms were perfect, all the little touches, even down to the note from the housekeeping team!nThe day flowed with no stress all thanks to the team.nnA huge thankyou again!nThe Guthrie Clan
I stayed here for three nights with my family. The hotel is in an excellent location, with a coop down the street and many sights within walking distance.nnThe rooms are extremely well appointed and decorated. We enjoyed the little touches, like an old-fashioned but modern radio and relevant artwork.nnWe had a fantastic full english breakfast provided every morning, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pub, especially the black sheep bitter, and meeting the various dogs that came to visit was fun.nnThe staff were even out in the parking lot, helping us get our cars out of a snowstorm on our last day there. Can't wait to visit again one day soon.
My friends and I attended a party in the main Ballroom when the allocated food for the event ran out.nI called down to main reception and asked if I could order some more food for our table and offered to pay.nThe Duty Manager was James and he organised a substantial meal for us all when I think the kitchen was wrapping up.nDespite trying to pay for the food, which was gratefully received James refused to accept our offer to pay.nWe had a fantastic 21s Birthday Party and really appreciated the Hotel going the extra mile. Thank you.
