We absolutely love this place! Food is home cooked and always consistent!! The owners are fantastically hospitable and nothing is ever a problem. In fact they heard we had covid and offered to deliver out food for us.
Very disappointing lunch. service is normal but the chicken of the chicken burger is dry, over-fried, almost burnt with barely a slice of meat, really just chicken skin. poor quality of food. not to mention the food took such long time to arrive when there were just two tables.
Perfect pub and garden for a family meal, a bike stop with the boys or pole position at the Cookham Gravity Race.
Great food and atmosphere, very traditional pub, have been coming here for years, although a bit out of our way now still worth the trip, well done Food: 5/5
Decided to come to this pub as it has a little park for kids, as we got out the car, we could hear lots of shouting and swearing, didn’t realise it was coming from the staff in the pub, as we walked in to the pub, the staff were obviously having a big old argument, with lots of swearing, I mentioned as I walked in, you know we can you from outside.. this comment was ignored and they all disbanded. It was a shame because the lady behind the bar was lovely, the food was lovely, kids loved the park. Yet nobody had common curtesy just to apologise for all the foul language. Not something you expect from such a beautiful place.
Most of the food had ran out, but the Chicken Pie on the Specials board was one of the nicest I've ever had. Nice well kept pint of Rebellion IPA as well.Food: 5/5
Even though we just had a coffee each which wasn't all that great but I do appreciate that they were maintaining social distance whilst handling long queue of people waiting to order take aways. All cards payment accepted and no cash dealings. Loved the location along with the calmness and beauty of the surroundings.
Visited The Jolly Farmer for dinner and once again had another superb meal! This time hake with roasted vegetables...absolutely delicious! The fish was extremely fresh and succulent and cooked to perfection...made even more delicious as both the fish and vegetables were cooked in their wood-fired oven! Great garden with an excellent play-area for children combined with friendly staff, good beer and a lovely atmosphere make for a guaranteed return soon!
Went here with some old pals for dinner. Excellent food, friendly staff, and a large outdoor garden including a heated pod and outdoor bar. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Recommended.
4 of us popped in on a Wednesday lunchtime. There were plenty of customers about, many sat outside. We sat inside. Service was efficient and food was decent - good selection, reasonably priced, sensible portion size and good value.
