The Workshop used the stones from a family heirloom to create a new engagement ring. Communications throughout were excellent and we were delighted with the finished product. Having approached several firms in Hatton Garden first, it was wonderful to find a local workshop with much better service, especially Irene, as well as lower price - the benefits of shopping locally!
I've been waiting to leave this review until the issues experienced were resolved. I'll try to keep this brief as it has been months of back and fourth with the workshop. My wife had her wedding ring made by Amersham Jewellery Workshop. She wanted a bespoke ring that used 4 diamonds from both of her late grandmother's rings. A very sentimental piece. After wearing the ring for 3months she noticed on holiday that one claw was completely sheared off with others raised. We also noticed the ring had not been hallmarked. They fixed the broken claw but was told it was my wifes fault. We sought opinions from 2 separate jewellers to be told, by both, that the ring was very poorly made ie claws all uneven leaving diamonds loose, the centre stone unsecure with a huge gap and still not hallmarked which is illegal, and both advised the ring should be entirely remade. Attached is a picture of the original ring as worn on the wedding day. You can see the gap and the uneven claws The ring was remade incorrectly as it did not meet the original design despite the details being on the email thread and had to be remade again. On collecting we had driven 200 miles back and fourth to the jewelers. Finally the ring is of acceptable quality but the entire experience has ruined the emotional connection my wife has to her ring. Throughout the entire process, my wife felt the communication and apologies were not really genuine. With excuses finally being given after much insistence. Feeling especially fobbed off when asking why the ring had not been hallmarked on two separate occasions and why it has been so poorly made in the first place. No compensation was offered, and whilst a bunch of flowers is nice, it doesn't resolve the incredibly poor experience that should never have happened in the first place. Glad this is finally over and safe to say we will never recommend Amersham Jewellery Workshop.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Irene. We bought my wedding band here and they helped with a special engraving on a signet ring. For the level of service and quality of products, it's incredibly reasonable - can't recommend highly enough.
I visited the Jewellery Workshop in search of a specific item. Irene took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and was incredibly helpful in locating the perfect item! I’ve since returned to get a very special bracelet of mine fixed. I honestly thought it couldn’t be repaired but Irene has ensured it was fixed it wonderfully, I’m so pleased, it looks as good as new!
Great experience at JWA, who very attentively made my wedding band from some of my grandparent’s old gold. Irene was very considerate and accommodating from my initial consultation, to handing over the final product. Would happily recommend their services.
Irene helped us to design a specific style of ring which she got exactly right! Emails replied to promptly, good communication and overall friendly service Also came in to re size ring later on which was done on the same day, excellent service!
I have bought several pieces of jewellery from the Workshop and they have always been first class both in terms of service and products offered. They are also quite happy to spend time researching on your behalf in order to get you exactly what you want.
What an amazing find! I was all set to use a jewellers in my village, but when I enquired, they said they couldn’t help me as the chain I needed repairing was ‘too fine’ and mot possible. I was so disappointed : My daughter in law recommended TJW and sure enough, to my delight, the repair was ‘ no problem at all’ It wasn’t a particularly lucrative deal for them, but the necklace is of particular sentimental value and meant the world that it could be repaired. Upon collection of my necklace, coincidently, a gold signet ring my mother’s, so 70 years old had worn so thin that is had snapped and unfortunately,, it couldn’t be repaired, however, a lovely lady, so sorry, but I didn’t get her name, but she wore her own mother’s wedding ring on a neck chain suggested that they could make my mums signet ring into a pendant, What a fab idea, I was so happy, and it’s beautiful! I can now pass this to my own daughter with its new lease of life. So an almighty THANK YOU to you and your team for taking the time and effort to deliver fantastic customer service, and beautiful jewellery. I have subsequently dropped in another gold chain for repair! I would highly recommend this jewellers, and, won’t be going anywhere else. Thank you.
My sister highly recommended this jewellers and the team did not disappoint. I commissioned a waterfall ring using some heirloom diamonds that were languishing in my jewellery box. I couldn't be more delighted with the finished article which was delivered in time for Xmas as promised!
Brilliant service, really nice and friendly staff, turnaround special made jewellery in no time and have a real personal touch with customers. Would definitely recommend and use them again.
