The name Kingsbarns was derived from the Kings of Scotland storing the grain from the very productive local ambient climate before being transported to Dunfermline and Falkland Palaces from the 11th to the 16th Century, whereafter the Monarchy moved to glorious Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital City. Situated in the heart of ‘golf country’ this area, called the East Neuk of Fife, has reputedly the most Sunshine hours than any other part of Scotland. The Inn is located in the Conservation Village of Kingsbarns, close to the bus stop and 10 mins walk to the World renowned Kingsbarns Golf Club. We are to be found on the Main route A916 from St. Andrews to the fishing Villages of Crail, Anstruther (Scottish Fisheries Museum), Pittenweem, St. Monans and Elie, where you can still watch the fish being landed on a daily basis. Two of Scotland’s greatest icons, whisky and golf were the inspiration behind the newly opened Kingsbarns Distillery which opened its doors in 2014 St. Andrews is a vibrant University town which has the 3rd oldest University in the English speaking world founded in 1413.
