Breakfast: Arrived at 8am, warm greeting and seated straight away and asked what drinks we would like. Lattes came quick but one had to be exchanged as was half froth and cool. But it was exchanged for a steaming hot one straight away, no quibble. The food was well presented, but the bread of the Bloomer Cob was starting to become stale so detracted from the Cob as a meal. The Full English was good quality but a small portion for the price. For £12 you would expect a healthy portion of good quality. Not good quality but small portion. Overall, stars were lost due to price and quality of food for said price. The staff there are very pleasant though.
Fabulous breakfast menu, friendly staff who go the extra mile Thanks to Skye for the marmalade! and are happy to take off-piste menu requests I always egg and bacon the vegan option, free parking, dog friendly. Been several times and always come away feeling I've won at breakfast. Wish there was somewhere like it at home - they really get to know their regulars. Any locals who want breakfast out should seriously give this place a go. If you're wondering, I recommend it.
Went to a wedding here and yes everyone had a good time but there were a few things that just need some attention. Firstly they need more staff that are used to coordinating weddings, the wedding coordinator that took over the role of the sick coordinator had a very long hard days graft, with staff members that either didn't want to be there or hadn't been trained. In all fairness to her she worked extremely hard and for a very long time. The bar staff that were working were unhelpful and hadn't been trained very well on both the wedding bar and the main bar. Some wouldn't serve certain drinks even though you'd been served there all night, they were miserable and it was very obvious, very loudly moaning about the band playing. The place aesthetics are lovely for a wedding it's just a shame that most of the staff except the blond coordinator are untrained and clearly not happy.
Service was poor, food was over cooked. The table next to us sent their food back for the same reason. And to finish off the evening, there was a wedding guest taking a pee in the car park as we left. We were considering this as a wedding reception venue, but definitely not worth £7k judging by this evenings visit.
Excellent attentive service and delicious food in a stunning pub with fantastic parking. Good value for 3 courses each. Very positive experience.
First time going to the Hurt Arms, pleasant staff, but a bit unorganised, position of carvary is very cramped when trying to plate food up,and queue blocks entrance up.table near the bar causes a bottle neck of people trying to leave ,whilst others are coming the other way to get to the toilets. The decor of the place is really nice, just needs a bit of a rethink of where the carvary is .Unfortunately some of the food was a bit under cooked ,meat was lovely, but veg and roast potatoes were hard ,gravy was like water and no taste to it. Obviously it was busy but still a pleasant place to go .
Service was truly shocking at this place. Its a shame as the carvery was amazing. We had a booking for 2pm, only for the waittress to discover someone was already sat at our table, she told us to take a seat whilst she found us another table as the lady sat there was already eating. This was annoying but things happen, it's fine. Fast forward to us finishing our drinks and 40 minutes later still nothing. She seemed to have disappeared and noone else bothered with us. We finally went to the bar to chase up our table after it becoming clear we had been forgotten about and a gentleman then kicked the lady off our table, surely this could've happened when we got there? We had our food, again amazing food, went to pay where the original woman made an appearence again to which she asks if we found a table in the end, confirming our thoughts that she did indeed forget about us, I told her that her colleague helped us to which she just giggled, noone seemed to care how long we were left waiting with no apology from her. Not normally one for bad reviews but honestly as someone who works in customer service, this lady clearly needs some training on simply how to interact with customers blonde hair and glasses
Mediocre food made without much care, despite the lovely presentation. Servers ignored our table and had to get up to find someone to order no tipping option perhaps explains the lack of motivation from staff?. In all very average for the price and we likely won’t be back.
Attended a friend's wedding this week and everything was lovely. Great outdoor and undercover spaces for hosting during changing of room layouts, the food was delicious, great drinks choices and helpful staff!
We had the carvery. Could tell it was mainly our if a bag .wish it had been cooked as fresh. You can not beat real pub grub.
