The place itself is nice, everything looks great. Tables are quite tightly packed together so you all can’t help but share in each other’s conversation with isn’t ideal especially for meals. 
The table staff are all pleasant despite it not being a table service place, it’s just a shame you have to go to the bar to order as they seemed uninterested. Spoke to a couple of the bar staff and felt the same on each visit. No engagement from them so was disappointed by this.
Food is good, standard pub food prices. I’d go again and hopefully I’ll get at least a smile next time I order.

9pm, Party of 3, my first visit, was sat in "the snug" great menu, I could have eaten any meal on that menu or the specials board, however I chose filet steak, I know steak is a hard one to guess what your going to get, this isn't about what I got but how I got it....ordered medium rare, on one side got well done and on the other side got totally burnt, about 3mm thick of edge to edge charcoal followed by10/15mm of grey meat maybe the grill was being cleaned and they fried it on the flat bed and forgot about it.
The waitress new exactly what was on the plate as there was no follow up "how's your meal"and I wouldn't have complained at the time as the night and the rest of the meals where fine and the evening would have been remembered for the wrong reason, we had starters so I wouldn't have minded waiting for a fresh one but should never have been served with the one I got, disappointed

Lovely meal.  Well run.  Arrived to a packed bar area.  Manager didnt take name, offered us a drink and called us through.  Knew exactly who we were and when we arrived.  Excellent service!

Lived in stafford all my life....tours and never been here til today. Best food ever. Staff lovely too. I will be returning. ❤❤❤

Absolutely amazing food with good service.. Beautiful setting and the choice to eat on a lawned BBQ area that is full of flower tubs and shrubs in the summer months.. However we took full advantage of the 1st sunny lunchtime and sat out today.. 14.04.18
