Went to see Fall Out Boy (don’t ask) yesterday at this venue. Never been to the venue before. We got a drink, wasn’t a bad price. A double rum and coke in a regular sized coca cola cardboard cup was £6 so kind of a bargain. However, the venue has many nooks and crannies that you’d expect to get a view of the stage. NOPE! We ended up in the VIP bar standing on seats behind the glass windows so you couldn’t hear the music properly. The picture attached was the best view we got. Won’t be coming back.

You don't understand a good night until you've been New Slang.

Went here or the first time last night. I fell in love with the place straightaway. With all of Londons clubs closing down, this is a real treat.

I went to Kingston Hippodrome to see the band Everything Everything on 17.8.17 and ended up leaving early. The quality of the sound was awful, with many songs being plagued by feedback and once a very loud pop that sounded like a speaker had exploded. It was so bad that the band hesitated for a second before carrying on. The main vocals were practically inaudible. I have seen Everything Everything many times before so I know how they usually sound. This wasn't the band's fault, but the either the venue's equipment or the crew. Furthermore the bars were cash only and the ATM was out of service so we couldn't buy drinks. The carpet was very sticky, the toilets quite dirty and the whole place felt very seedy. I won't be going back.

Went to see Alt J here with Banquet Records and I won't be coming back. People who had bought tickets many months beforehand were not warned that there were two different shows, as a result many arrived at 6pm (the time that was widely advertised everywhere) only to be turned away and told that their ticket was only for the 8pm session. When standing in line it started to pour and there was 0 protection from the rain. When we finally managed to get in for the second session, the band took almost 2 hours to appear and played a tiny set (well under 1 hour long). It ended so abruptly that everyone in the audience was looking around at each other completely confused. I have no idea what happened. It honestly looked like it wasn't the bands' fault, since it's ridiculous that they would even consider playing two whole shows back to back. I'll see them live again, but never in The Hippodrome or with Banquet Records. At least the security people and the girl at the cloak counter were nice, but they looked absolutely exhausted. They must hate that place too. Xoxo never again.
