Always a friendly welcome. Haven't eaten here for a while, but last time we did it was divine. The building and decorations are all very tasteful and like I say, a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Called in today for a "pick me up" hot drink, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We found a wonderful nook under the grapevines, very pretty and relaxing
Lovely atmosphere and food was very tasty. Bloody mary salmon fishcakes, fish and chips, brownie and orange & vanilla creme brulee. Definitely visit again
Delicious breakfast and a beautiful gastropub in Lichfield. There's ample parking and their Menu is made of good quality ingredients.
Tasty food, cozy place and lovely staff! We arrived 30min earlier but they didn't make us wait for the table, the food was ready pretty quick too and it was delicious!
Beautiful Sunday Roast. Was able to get a table dispite not booking one. Staff were friendly and polite.
We booked wisely, it turned out and enjoyed a lunchtime meal to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Our table was in the main part of the restaurant but it wasn't too noisy and we were able to chat. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry, although it was clearly a problem for a nearby family. The food was of the high standard that we have come to expect over the years. All in all, we had a good experience and will continue to visit for meals when we can find reason to do so.
My review skipped to the next place I ate. I do not have an issue with the hedge hog, in fact being my local I love it. It's withing walking distance. And loverly in summer. We would of been there yesterday but were too late in booking. Highly recommended.
We could never fault this restaurant until our visit yesterday. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous but unfortunately we arrived at 5.10pm and swiftly ordered our food and drink. We waited until 5.50 before we asked when our meal would arrive. Our meal had been forgotten so by the time the order had been placed again, cooked and bought to our table we'd been sitting there over an hour. Can't fault the food but sadly what should have been a quick meal out, on our way home ended up being much longer than planned!
We were told we couldn't sit where we wanted to sit... in the shade of a tree and a brolly. That we could only sit on the tables allocated for food... which were all on the hot patio, only 1 with a brolly which provided shade for only 1 chair. We were told no, you can't have food there. My husband even offered to bring the food over himself. But the staff still refused. I really don't see how much difference it would have made, except for us being able to sit in comfort. We have never known tables to be only drinks tables before. As the manager wasn't willing to accommodate our request, we left, having no drinks or lunch.
We dine here often. This was for my 30th birthday meal that we've delayed due to my health recently. The first time we've come away feeling disappointed. Food was a long wait, portion size and warmth of meal not up to scratch. Granted it was busy, but not many dinning, lots out in the beer garden. We'll try again in hope to have a better experience.
