We came here for tea whilst staying at Hollins Hall for my birthday. The food was amazing, I had the Barbers smothered chicken and it was genuinely the tastiest chicken dish I've ever had! The decor was really nice and I particularly liked the ambience where the log fire is situated. The staff that looked after us were all very pleasant, Kate, Kaitlyn and Grace. Great choice of drinks on draught, we will most definitely return.
First time here today and I have to say it was lovely. The look and atmosphere is 10/10. Our server Beth and Pete were extremely friendly, smiley and knowledgeable about the food on offer. We will definitely return to try what else is on offer!
Lovely pub restaurant, nicely decorated and friendly staff. Good selection of gastro pub food and yummy desserts. I've eaten here several times now and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. A nice outdoor seating area that would be lovely on a warm summer's evening. They also have a wedding suite and function room. Plenty of free car parking spaces. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options on the menu, some of which are available as vegan too. Dietary restrictions: The staff are always happy to try to accommodate dietary restrictions. They have switched ice-cream for a non-dairy alternative and cheese for vegan cheese. Wheelchair accessibility: There is accessible access at the front of the building with a flat approach from the car park.
Had an amazing day here at my son's wedding. The staff were amazing and the food was just stunning. Can't recommend it higher if you want a meal drink or party place.Food: 5/5
Booked a table online. The server was very polite. I had the 2 courses for £16.50. The crispy squid was cooked to perfection and was delicious. The burger was amazing, cannot fault it.Food: 5/5
Came here for a impromptu dinner with a friend. The food was exemplary and the service - Kate and Emma were on duty - was brilliant. I would happily come back here again. Thank you for a lovely evening!Food: 5/5
Great value and excellent quality food Staff very friendly Food: 5/5
We visit the Halfway House on a regular basis but last night was for my dad's birthday . We had a lovely meal, our servers were Kate and Gee, and nothing was too much trouble for them as they even put a candle into my dad's pudding and sang happy birthday. The food is amazing and the portion size is good. All meat is sourced locally and is good quality produce. There is a good selection of beers and Lager, and also nonalcoholic drinks too. They always make us feel welcome in this warm and friendly pub. It is also family and dog friendly with pooches bring allowed into the bar area. Many thanks again to Kate snd Gee for making my dad's birthday special. See you again soon Andrew, Diane and Karen xxx
My family and I go here for meals out all the time and it’s always an excellent experience! The food is hot and delicious served quickly too and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We were served by a kind man called Peter who ensured we had the best experience possible and was super helpful when catering to our dietary needs. We all leave smiling every time, it’s one of the greatest pubs I’ve ever been to. Service here is unmatched. Would highly recommend for any occasion!! Vegetarian options: There’s a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options. When I went with my vegetarian friend she said it was all delicious so no lacking on quality there! Dietary restrictions: Staff were very helpful when catering to dietary restrictions and were able to help us find an option that was safe and delicious. Parking: Parking is right outside the restaurant - plenty of spaces, personally I’ve never struggled to find a spot even at busy times. Kid-friendliness: The staff were super friendly with the kids! A waitress called Courtney went above and beyond to ensure the kids were entertained and happy thanks!!. Staff were also super helpful when catering to picky eaters! Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is spaced out nicely, plenty of space for a wheelchair to move around the restaurant.
Nice pub, lovely staff. Unfortunately the food wasn't brilliant. I had the Sunday lunch and it was all disappointing for the money. Edit: Been again today and service & food was really good.
