Food better than it was a year ago but the service was a bit slow. May just have been a one off as usually very good. Would still recommend.

Good atmosphere, great food and service, good value for money. Nice place for a family meal, children welcome. Ample car parking facilities. Highly recommend

Just keeps getting better and now dog friendly 😎
We have been going to Halfway House for food and drinks (sometimes just drinks ) more often in the last six months since the change in management.
Last night we popped in for dinner in the bar area , the food was excellent and we had a few cheeky proseccos on the ‘happy hour ‘ deal .It was a nice surprise to find out there was an accoustic band playing in the bar area , this brought a really good chilled out  atmosphere to the place and apparently it’s something that is going to happen on a regular basis .
It is now very dog friendly in the bar area and we have taken our little dog in a few times and have been made to feel very welcome .
This does work well as the bar is separate from the dining room and there are water bowls for the dogs plus treats on the bar .

We have made a few visits for food first visit, food was okay it served a purpose and is in line with produced pub chain food. Other visits service and attitude really let it down. With food order not been given to the kitchen and in direct shot of staff bitching about colleagues and customers. It really has put us off going again. The new owner is working hard to turn it around but it’s an obvious uphill struggle
