Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Nice room (classic 1970/80’s ? for a country pub/hotel in Scotland), single glazed windows are a heat sink but the heating was effective. Seemed to be a new carpet in the room and the bathroom facilities worked. Restaurant and Bar comfortable with a very good choice on the menu. Evening meal was very tasty and the breakfast also well cooked. Good sized car park. Very courteous and friendly staff. I’d stay again.

Have had a fantastic meal, here and sheena is fantastic with food allergies, the gun Lodge stack is a must, fresh local fish, all freshly prepared while you wait.

We, a German family with 3 boys (7, 10, 14 at that time) had a 3 nights stay in June or July 1994 in this fair and beautiful guest house. All I can say is that this stopover was an absolute winner. Worm wellcome, perfect lodging, very obliging and helpful owners and last but not least, delicious food. They even managed us a 2 houres boat trip by a friend of them in Portmahomack where we cought about 40 kg codfish within half an hour, which, of course, we gave them over for freez and use in their kitchen. I have no idea if the owner of 1994 is still the same in 2017 but reading the comments here ( OK, skip that silly one) makes me think, everything is still as it was 1994. We recommend the Gun Lodge Hotel without any limitations! Greets from Germany

Just a one night stay very friendly and a comfortable nights sleep. The lady even printed my boarding pass for my early flight. Good food just what I needed.
