The food is divine! I had goats cheese starter, and braised beef main, just ice cream for pudding. A good selection for all available. You will have to book for a Saturday evening. Book early to choose where you want to sit, as sitting in the middle of the restaurant is not ideal, people come past you on the way to toilets. Only thing that let this down was the service. Not enough staff for them to be the right kind of attentive. If they sort that out then I would give 5 stars. Heres a picture of my partners pudding
The restaurant had only 3 tables of diners when we arrived.Lots of staff looked like they were stood around doing nothing.Took us over 30 mins to receive our starter which we had to send back as it was cold. The main arrived and was delicious and warm. We did not get time for a dessert as the service was so slow and we were due at The Cathedral for a show . My partner asked that they wave the charge for the starters as a gesture of good will which they did as I also had to leave the restaurant to get cash as their card machine was down. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Started off with pre-appetizer of marinated olives, green and flavorful. Appetizer was citrus cured smoked salmon and was a wonderful start to the meal. For entrees my partner and I ordered the ribeye and cod loin. Both were very well presented, but the cod lacked a bit of flavor. Will go back for another dinner.
Sunday morning visit after breakfast, so it was quiet at the time. Clean and airy, the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. I've been here many years before, and it has kept up the high standardsFood: 5/5
Hey look, I don't like giving negative reviews. Everyone has an off day and maybe tonight was an off day. 7pm, party of 6. Place was empty. First guy we met was professional and pleasant. Showed us to a booth and got drinks for two of us as we waited a short time for the remainder of the party. Party all sat down, and orders taken. Starters arrived and wrong salad brought in. Yes there was an offer for a replacement salad but it should not happen on a quiet night. Starters were OK. Nothing special. Main courses. Long delay to get all 6 plated out. Steaks were neither good meat or cooked well. Small portions of chips. It's all about first impressions. These were not good. I'm hoping it was a rough night rather than this is the normal service. Unfortunately as a business dinner it fell a long way from what was expected. Sorry.
Lovely staff... food was good but salad was a buit limited in content. Rather a lot of lettuce and croutons I would have liked some tomato and onion or some other salad ingredients.Food: 4/5
Lovely clean and sparkly resteraunt. Charming staff. The food was al a carte and really nice for my special birthday meal . I would have scored 5 stars but the service was really slow. Maybe not their fault maybe staffing issues but they were clearing tables and setting up for breakfast instead of coming to see if we wanted dessert which we did but lost the will to live at this stage. Maybe attention to diners instead of sorting tables
Fabulous evening dinner very relaxing experience with a brand new menu
Popped in for lunch today. We both had the Grille Beef Burger and it was fantastic. One of the best burgers we've ever had. We chose the brownie for desert to take advantage of the set course meal, which was also delicious. Would definitely visit again. The staff were also great and very welcoming, particularly the manager. Couldn't fault it.
Had the valentines meal, very nice. Would recommend
