The steaks are great if you're happy to pay good money. We were there on a 40% off day and got a variety of dishes. The waiter was very accommodating and had great recommendations. If you want to play it safe, get the chicken skewer starters, they're delicious and the sauce is complimentary. Depending on your love for steak, you'll have a fair choice, if you don't know what you after the waiter can be helpful, but the premium aussie black fillet was incredibly soft and juicy.
OMG! I had the best steak ever aged in a himalayan salt fridge. They brought the meat to me to choose my cut it was awesome along with the sides and starters. Nice venue and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!
I love going to The Grill, both On The Alley and On New York Street. The atmosphere is always great and staff are friendly. There's a wide selection of food and the steak and ice cream are highly recommended. There's also a wide selection of drinks including wine, cocktails and juices. I've been here on a Friday night before and they had live music downstairs and the atmosphere would great. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
I used to rate the alley 4 stars, it was good but didn't have that 5 star feel. That changed last night, Warren our server was great and gave us some good tips. The Australian fillet pics was amazing. One of the best steak houses in Manchester.
Cosy atmosphere, open kitchen. A chic place for lunch/dinner. Food taste was up to expected standards. Great selection of wine lists and cocktails. Service may take sometime, but staff is very nice and friendly.
Should be 5 stars but edging on a 3. The food was amazing make no mistake but the service was a bit lacking. We had a very nice enthusiastic waitress but she was shadowing a bit more of an absent waiter. We had to ask 3 times to get some water. There was conflicting messages about what was in/out of the 50% off offer so thought we might get stung at the end. Overall a really nice meal but confusion interrupted conversation.
Pretty cool place for steak, but I guess the cooking can be improved where there is tendency of over cook when I have steak in Manchester in general
I love this place. Good steak, well prepared, is a joy. Service is great, just a pure pleasure. Their sides and desserts are also excellent!
Expensive steak restaurant with quite a wide range of steaks. I ordered the special steak, which was good, but not sure it is worth the extra ££. Similar to the other reviews, the service was tardy, forgetting my drink, slow etc.
We had the tomahawk steaks to share. Despite we wanted them to be medium rare but turned out to be medium; the meat was quite tender. It was a good evening. I recommend it.
