Pretty good weatherspoons. Nice location especially if you can grab a booth in the window areas. Food comes out to a pretty good standard as well. The only knock is it could do with a refurbishment.
A large Wetherspoons with a nice outside seating area. Food was good but disappointed with the order by the app drinks service, very slow even though the bar wasn't busy. My food arrived but no drink, when I questioned this, the response was basically "you just need to wait".
Lovely clean Wetherspoons, friendly staff, food served quickly, hour and is good quality. Highly recommended.
Arrived late in the evening, to find total carnage tables left with empty glasses and plates of left food. Ordered food via the app, drinks took so long went bar too order more drinks. Started talking to guest on table next door, only to find he'd waiting 30 minutes for food. Staff seemed poorly organised and managerless, clear that more staff are required over the holiday periods.
Very disappointed today. We popped in to grab breakfast as previously we'd had pretty good experience with this Wetherspoons. However this time it all went down hill. My sons toast came out cold. My fathers breakfast was luke warm at best and my eggs benedict came out without any hollandaise sauce on it. When asked shouldn't it have sauce, the waiter said "I think it usually does" and walked off. We had to find another waitress who was more helpful and I returned it and was told I would get a fresh one with sauce in place however after a couple of minutes my original breakfast was returned with sauce lathered over it. By this point the eggs were more hard boiled than poached and it was all cold. Not edible and everyone else at this point had finished eating and were ready to leave.
Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime visit and took a long time to find a table. The drinks therefore took about 25 minutes to arrive and that was well after the food that arrived quickly. Still it's good value and a nice pub in a good location. The food was very good too.
Friend and me had our pre Christmas lunch here. Neither of us wanted turkey so I had a mini all day brunch and my friend had mini fish, chips, curry sauce. Just enough for lunch time eating. Really good service, very fast, midday, standard of food very good.
The young staff were very polite and efficient. The food was well cooked and the food and drink were delivered very speedily via the app and great value. I visited on a Friday and it was very ‘lively’ earlier on at about 7 pm with some young women screaming and shouting and some older people attempting to sing. My overall impression? As my Philosophy tutor said when I wrote my first essay many years ago, “Interesting, but wrong”.
You will have more chance of finding a cleared, clean table at a chimps tea party. This place hasnt gone downhill, its just nose dived over a cliff. Dirty, dark and most un welcoming. Special mention to the male manager who happily serves and places poured drinks on to a sopping wet bar of spill's and thinks that's acceptable.
Food was okay, nice atmosphere. However there was still food from previous customer on cutlery, and the underside of my plate had left over food on it. When we asked a staff member to please change our cutlery, we were met with a roll of the eyes and a sigh, not a good look for the place, especially considering we are tourists.
