Most Pubs are having a hard time and The Great Lyde appears to be no different. If you don't like the owner's big Bulldog walking freely around the Bar Area and trying to make friends with you, then its best to stay away. Can't say what the food is like, but on the visits for a pint I haven't seen any diners. They do have special events such as Bungy Jumping in Car Park and Live Groups.

My family and I had the belly pork and mustard mash, the pork fell apart it was so juicy and the mustard mash was to die for. I can't wait to go again and try something else off the menu. My nan is a very fussy eater so the chef came out and spoke to her and adjusted the menu to her needs, she had stuffed chicken with sweet corn, mash and gravy and was very happy, which she is very hard to please anywhere else and ends up ordering something she doesn't want. This was not the case at The Great Lyde Pub

Great service and carvery is excellent value. Even do takeaway carvery and deliveries. Thoroughly recommended.
