Great drinks and lovely food! It's better to drive to this place than to walk, especially in the evening. The outside is quiet dark and remote at night immediately outside and the heavy goods vehicles and cars are dangerous with the absence of a pavement on one side. The staff are extremely welcoming here. The lighting inside and decor are particularly lovely with a contemporary feel blending nicely with the ancient backdrop. It can be very, very quiet late on a Saturday Evening .

Excellent pub. Great location, suited for a stop on a walk, or park up in their car park. Very generous portions and friendly service, if stretched at times on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Also top value for money. Well worth a visit.

Sunniest day of the year but managed to find a parking space and a table easy enough. Very friendly bar lady and thought the food was just right overlooking the canal. Only left when bloke on next table starting smoking something that wasnt a cigarette, which seemed very out of place given it was only 6-7,in the evening and a public garden with children playing.

I think this pub will normally be ok but today 4 of the 5 lagers on offer were out of stock but selection of ales were available. Nice garden by canal.

We appeared to irritate the guy behind the bar by asking where we could sit. Ordering two different types of cider seemed to irritate him too. In fact, he didn't seem very happy at all! Luckily we found this quite entertaining!
