I've been coming here for a very long time but it's been 5 years since my last visit and it suddenly looks different. Still the same vibe with the graffiti but the arches are opening up. I'm sure many people love it but the opening of bars, etc may water down what was unique about this place. Even though it was Saturday afternoon in the middle of the tourist season it seemed a little subdued. I still like walking here and I guess everything has to change and change brings a new dimension and maybe a new vibe.
Well worth a detour if you're in the area. Although literally located in a tunnel underneath Waterloo Station, we visited late at night and the vibes were still great, with many painters in action, dance groups practicing with music pumping and many people taking in the artwork.nnMany different styles of artwork that are constantly changing make the space feel alive and is definitely worth checking out, especially for fans of street art.nnNot many places where you can enjoy such talent for free.
I accidentally ended up going into this tunnel. I was walking to find the London eye, and it was really cool to go through this place. It's really beautiful, you don't have to pay anything, and in the middle of the tunnel there's a pub. I recommend visiting it, it's safe during the day, I’m not sure about the night.
Free, easily accessible from the street. Impressive graffiti artwork from floor to ceiling in this tunnel. I witnessed many families with small children walking through here. However, I also encountered a loud, boisterous homeless individual in the tunnel as well. Just be aware of your surroundings and enjoy the art.
