Leicester Square is a lively and iconic part of London with plenty to see and do. The cinemas, restaurants, and street performers make it fun and entertaining, though it can get crowded at times. While some shops and attractions feel a bit touristy, the atmosphere is buzzing and exciting. A great place for a visit if you want to experience the heart of London’s entertainment scene.
Leicester Square has an incredible atmosphere during December, with Christmas festivities bringing the whole area to life. It’s a wonderful place to visit even with children, as there is so much to see and enjoy. The holiday decorations, lights, and lively crowds create a truly festive mood. There are also fun surprises, including statues of Harry Potter and Shah Rukh Khan that make for great photo spots. When we visited, there was a skating rink and a small food festival, adding even more charm to the experience. A highly recommended spot for anyone visiting London during the holiday season!
Came here towards the end of December, there was a skate pop up where people could skate and enjoy food, drinks or shopping. I had a mulled wine which was enjoyable, though the server wasn’t friendly. Very nice shops to see, selling a variety of things from jewelry to decorative artwork. Clean and tidy inside, but crowded. I felt safe that security does check bags at the entrance.nnOverall, I recommend. Prices aren’t too bad. I saw some item I’d love to try if I had the appetite such as gourmet hot chocolate and churros.
Beautiful square designed for Christmas. With different food and drink stalls. Ice skating rink in the middle. It was very crowded and long lines for food. But it was also very festive. Perfect place to visit for holiday seasons.
Leicester Square is truly the heart of London’s entertainment scene. It’s always buzzing with energy — from street performers and cinema premieres to lively crowds enjoying the atmosphere. Surrounded by theatres, restaurants, and iconic cinemas, it’s the perfect place to experience the city’s vibrant culture.nnIt’s also a great spot for people-watching or just soaking in the atmosphere, especially in the evening when the square lights up. The gardens in the middle provide a nice place to sit and relax amidst the bustle.
