Ordered, waited for half an hour, my partner went to the bar to check why the long waiting time, he was told we were the next ones to be served. Many dishes were bought out from the kitchen while we were still waiting for 15 more minutes to be served. Won't be ordering burger again if we ever come back here, the burger roll was too dry to my taste. My boyfriend's food was fine though.
A wonderful country pub, went for a valentines day meal. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and a wonderful relaxing setting. The food was incredible as always, and the staff made sure we had a great time from the moment we arrived until we left. Will return again for sure.
The Retriever is an English country pub located on the road Nine Mile Ride in Bracknell. The pub itself is well presented with ample seating inside and out with a closed marquee to the side of the pub. Staff and polite and friendly with the normal lagers on tap. The interior is spacious and relaxing with a nice vibe. The food is okay with a fairly good selection on the week day and Sunday menus. This pub is dog friendly and you’ll find quite a few people bring their four legged friends. Note this place gets very busy so it is best to book a table at least a couple weeks in advance.
This is such a lovely place to have a niceeal out. The restaurant is well decorated and feels very welcoming. There is a wide varied menu with something for for everyone. The menu includes options for vegan and vegetarians. Food was really well cooked and so tasty. Portion sizes were also good. Staff very very friendly and helpful providing quick service despite being busy. The carpark isn't huge so can get full at very busy times.
Really lovely pub. Lots of outdoor seating but it started to rain whilst we were there so sat indoors. Large portion of indoor seating was table service, which I didn’t expect. We managed to sit in the bar area so was bar service. Food came within 15-20 minutes of ordering. They forgot the fries we’d ordered but rectified that by giving us an extra portion, so no complaints here.
The kids pizza was massive. Husband got hunters chicken which was juicy and perfect. But unfortunately my fish cakes were a let down. Along with the additional bits on the plate. Lots and lots of rice and finding any fish was like looking for a needle in a haystack, egg overcooked and broccoli raw. However the staff were great with us and the lil man. We will definitely come back as apart from my meal everything else was good. Price for 3 with starter and double drinks was good.
Great service, nice drinks. Everything was really good apart from my main which was the rainbow salad bowl. Although it was on the main course menu, it wasn’t as filling/hearty as the majority of the many mains salads I’ve ordered elsewhere. I couldn’t taste pineapple & ginger in the dressing perhaps because there wasn’t much dressing on it and the pepper on top was quite slimy. There were no pomegranate seeds or curly kale as described on the menu. It could definitely be improved- it wasn’t worth £11.95. I would, however, visit again and order something else- the sweet potato fries were delicious.
Both of us absolutely loved our meal here. Would definitely recommend. They had great gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Would love to go back if we are in the area again.
Great dog friendly pub,had the Sunday roast and it was delicious, followed by creme Brulee, when we went we were able to sor outside but I've been inside too and its one of the best pubs in the area. Good food and great staff
Arrived at 5.25 for our table booked for 5.30. There was one party in front of us waiting to be seated. We waited 20 minutes and were eventually seated. We then waited just over 20 minutes for someone to come and take our drinks order as well as our meal order. Starters arrived fairly quickly and the main meals arrived about 15 minutes after the starters which is acceptable. My daughter had the vegan Wellington and the veg was warm but she poured the gravy over them to make them hot. Son in law had the roast turkey and again the veg was only warm. My wife had the chicken pie with mixed veg , the mixed veg consisted of a few slivers of carrots, three sprouts and one piece of cabbage about the size of a postage stamp. I had ordered steak which arrived slightly warm with cold fries and no sauce. When we managed to attract the attention of staff my meal was taken back and I had to wait a further ten or so minutes for its return. This steak was about 30% fat and gristle , by this point I was past getting it replaced again as the rest of my party had finished their meals. Overall a very poor experience and I would think twice before returning.
