Family gathering on 28th Dec 2019 in the skittle alley. There were about 20 of us, we had the skittle alley to ourselves and had a great evening. Lots of fun and laughter. All of this was enhanced by the wonderful service we received from all of the staff. On another note, we chose to have a cold buffet rather than the cooked chicken and salad. The only comments I heard all night from all of my family were how wonderful the food was, how plentiful and well presented and how tasty it all was . Thank you Jim and the rest of your staff for helping to make our evening special. Hope to see you again next year. Alan & Family
Lovely country pub. Fantastically clean and tidy. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Good beer served well. Excellent food at good prices. Well impressed. Wonderful Sunday lunches too at great value
Proper 'old school' pub, grub and beer. Great ploughman's with big wedges of Stilton and brie. Great prices and very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Back here again for Sunday lunch, still amazing quality and value.
Stopped for a quick coffee and cold drink with my youngest daughter 8 and found a " Jem " . Polite helpful staff , great atmosphere and friendly locals all made a quick unplanned stop over very enjoyable. Food looked great Sunday lunch seemed to be a big favourite last serving 2 30 and all in a very unassuming bar/ pub. A big thank you to the bar staff Sunday Annie Keira and Laura . I'll definitely be stopping by again along with my daughter Rory and our dogs 3 Try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed
Great lunch last Saturday with two friends that I don't often see. We all thought the food was very good as well as the beer. Also friendly staff and no music.
Quality wee proper pub, really friendly staff and clientele. Couldn't accommodate us for dinner but very apologetic and sincere in regard to this. Would def go again just based on the decent pint and atmosphere.
We love it at this pub. Its bright and cosy even in winter. The food is delicious, hot, and homemade. Or the cold food is colourful and tempting. Service is quick and the staff polite and friendly. Definitely recommend it
Just had a fantastic Sunday roast. Had to leave some as it was massive with the cauliflower cheese, perfectly cooked broccoli and delicious roast potatoes. All in all, a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon with nice food and nice fresh real ale..
Lovely country pub with a great atmosphere.
We visited today with friends for lunch. All four of us agreed that the food, service and ambiance was faultless. Unfortunately we learnt that the pub will cease trading from tomorrow. It seems that the lease was not renewed. Jim and the staff advised us that they were not aware of the closure until yesterday. As the Bracknell area is generally suffering from overdevelopment one must assume that redevelopment and money madness has prompted this. Another really British pub bites the dust. I hope the people responsible for this disaster are proud.
