Although I have a choice of 3 or 4 other Indian restaurants a similar distance away I always go here whether for a take-away or for a sit down meal. The reason is that the food is so good. I have never been disappointed. The food is noticeably made fresh ingredients rather than the heated up slop that you seem to get at some other establishments.
So friendly! We got some free pakoras whilst waiting and then we were brought a drink! When the take-out came to us, the man saw we hadn't finished our drinks so he took our food back to keep warm until we finished! It tasted amazing - the prawn puree, poppadoms with pickles and the meals and naan breads! Plenty left over for tomorrow too!
This place truely is a hidden gem in Eaglescliffe, we stumbled on it while going to the Chemist next door and decided to give it a go. We were not dissapointed ! The staff were hugely attentive to both us a 30 something couple and our child who they kept amused while we ate owing to the restaurant being a bit less busy. The food was perfectly prepared and they have a selection of both westernised and traditional dishes meaning the it caters for both markets. The menu while not exhaustive was excellently thought out and the food in all honesty I have not had rivalled locally since arriving here 6 months ago. It was near perfect from prep, seasoning and serving I had no complaint. The prices were excellent and our bill for dinner for 3 family members left enough change from a typical spend for a bottle of wine on the way home. In an unusual part of the review I would like to mention the amenities which in short astounded me, you could literally have felt sane eating in the bathrooms which were absolutely pristine and provided a selection of soaps and sanitizers which is pretty unusual but very warmy received putting this into my category of places which exceeded expectations. I would not hesitate and will certainly be putting this high on my list of places to go for dinner with the Family. Its certainly suitable for date night or first date and the location means none of the usual high street battle for car parking. A real gem hidden in an unexpected location.
Always a good curry with friendly staff and a quick service. They deliver if local and the food arrives hot and well packed. The website is easy and secure to use to place orders and I use it frequently as it gives a discount, bonus.
The only reason this has one star is because you can't give zero! This was the most appalling restaurant experience we have ever had. When we arrived there was a table of 2 just finishing and no one else in but us and people collecting takeaways. We got our drinks pretty quickly and a popadom each although they were both burnt in the middle. Another table of 2 and a table of 4 came in, both getting their starters before us. It went from bad to worse as the girl at the desk took 7 phone calls from people complaining because their order had not been delivered yet. After being sat for over an hour and asking 3 times we eventually got our starters that were chicken pakora and vegetable samosa. Biting into the samosa it was so hot and tasty it seemed to calm the situation, until I realised it was ice cold in the middle almost frozen. We WILL NOT be returning and would never recommend to anyone.
Have had numerous takeaways from here, food was always good, so thought we'd try a sit in meal. Place was empty bar two couples on a Saturday night, we got drinks and ordered our mains. One of the other tables were asking when their food was going to arrive. We got given a free starter, presumably to say sorry for the long wait for mains. The other couple got up and left after finally getting cold starters. We asked how long we would wait, and were told they would find out. We decided to leave after an hour and no food served. It was clear they were really busy with takeaways and were overwhelmed. When you can't serve food on time when you only have 3 tables on a Saturday night, you know somethings wrong. At no point were we told it would be a long wait. We won't be 'Goa'ing back, which is a shame as food was always good when taking away. Would be interested to see if the final couple walked out aswell.
I don't know if this place has changed hands or chefs but it's definitely not as good since the new menu came out. I thought I would try again after receiving a terrible Ceylon last week very watery and wasn't nice at all .this time I ordered pathia same colour same taste and very watery again
Best Indian in Yarm - excellent service and fantastic quality food. I don't recommend to use JustEat for delivery it takes ages - visit to collect a take-away or enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Had a great experience. Good introduction to Indian food for me. Pretty expensive buy a good weekend place to grab food. I'd go back.
1st order from take away menu-unbelievable.Food arrived within 40 mins and I've never seen so much food.Piping hot and delicious. Will definitely be using The Goa again.
