The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club is a social and study hub for postgraduate students and staff of the University of Glasgow, offering a comfortable and friendly environment for postgrads and staff to interact with one another.
The club has both social and study spaces, with a bar area, individual study booths and a seminar room. The seminar room, which is available to be booked in advance, will give postgraduates the use of the space for seminars, meetings, presentations, workshops, film screenings and much, much more. Capacity is about 60 seminar style.
The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club aims to be the place for all all postgraduates to go, whether it is to socialise over a coffee or a beer, prepare with friends before a seminar or just to study. The club was named after Marion Gilchrist, the first female graduate of the University of Glasgow, and the first women to obtain a medical degree in Scotland. In recognition of her accolade, the club hopes to bring together postgraduates from all schools and all backgrounds, creating a cross-college mix in which postgraduates can learn from one another.
Barista style coffee and tea, bottle beers, wines and spirits and a selection of sandwiches, paninis, wraps and salads, as well as home baking and fresh fruit.
