Story

North Glasgow College was a college located at Springburn in Glasgow and was one of the main providers of further education in the city. Due to financial difficulties experienced by the North British Locomotive Company in 1961, the main administration building of the company on Flemington Street was sold to Glasgow Corporation for use as an annexe of Stow College, until becoming Springburn College of Engineering in 1965 and later Springburn College in 1981. Its primary role was the teaching of engineering apprentices. The college merged with Barmulloch College in 1990, being renamed North Glasgow College. The new combined college remained located in the former headquarters of the North British Locomotive Company but in early 2009 moved to a new purpose built campus opposite, on the site of the former NBL Hyde Park railway works. The new college building won a Royal Institute of British Architects Award for its design in 2009.The college merged with Stow College and John Wheatley College on 1 November 2013 to form Glasgow Kelvin College.

have been to this college for a few years and loved it and had some really great experiences and lectures over the years. But I had a lecture that was really horrible and I really didn't feel comfortable or supported I don't know if I would go back. I am at another college and I am loving it. I am not saying all lectures are like the one I had. City of Glasgow have some great lectures who will help and support you
Waring if you're a ESOL learner please don't come here coz hardly you get any classes every day teacher are sick unwell or strick absolutely rubbish. hardly get any lessons.
PLEASE READ THIS! As a student for four years 2020 - 2024, this is a warning! City of Glasgow college is deeply corrupt, many deals have taken place before this where the heads of the college were giving deals to their pals to support folk with disabilities and only giving them 20 minute zoom calls a month and that's if you are lucky as support for someone like myself was moved about with different people I got increasingly uncomfortable to the point I just couldn't get help anymore. Cuts have been happening at the college while the head gave themself a massive bonus even if they are cutting support for students and giving them less help just makes one feel isolated which I did on many occasions which lead to my mental health being affected. Racism has become the norm of the college as racial comments have been made within the college in which the punishment is usually a slap on the wrist. The college only recently removed a lecturer who had been alleged to start indoctrination with their students towards a Germany political party within the 1930s and 1940s, which can be essoly found out more about. The college has also lost money due to it falling for a scam in which they had the assumption that they would have a transfer program from a college within Pakistan but it came to light that it wasn't the case. I've had lecturers not being able to explain work well especially two who just did the bare minimum and even made on of the students I was friends with very uncomfortable by taking them into a room alone the lecturer was a male and she was a female who made it clear they didn't feel comfortable around a male by themselves. MULTIPLE TIMES! which caused her to end up crying and got very upset she had to leave, and did they even care? No becauseyour mwntal health isn't as important as them getting paid. The college desk at the 2nd floor because of course your gonna make people walk up those stairs unless your a student or want to go in the slowest elevator which you need to hold onto if you want to go up. The people there are very rude, and due to it being mainly middle-aged women there, it's very apparent that towards younger students, they can be very snappy, which I personally think isn't the kinds of people you want when at your college. Do you have strikes going on within your course? You can't do work because lecturers have gone on strike, and you need help? You can't do all the work within 1 week of the college fishing up for the end? Well, too bad! Because that's what the City of Glasgow is! I do understand about wanting more money and stuff, etc etc but you'd think they have things in place for this, but they don't because they don't care for students, just money. Courses are being dropped, they end up changing halfway through, and students are never seen as equals and even when you do stand out you'll be put down so far into your place that you'll end up hating yourself and not wanting to continue. This college... it's actually terrifying.
The college is a great place to learn but lecture are striking too much due to the college not making deals with trade unions
beautiful place and friendly environment. If you are considering studying here then I recommend it! You will not regret your decisions
Fabulous building, modern sleek and futuristic. Must be inspirational if you're studying here. Great feel to the place.
Looked down upon by so called lecturers. Given the impression you are not allowed to better yourself and move on. Not approachable lecturers and nothing taken into consideration. Ask to do an additional module and put onto a completely different module without being made aware, try to withdraw from the module and the reaction was almost as if I had told them the world was ending. Worst experience of my life.
Fantastic place to study and super friendly staff. The main building is beautiful and definitely worth visiting! always best as glasgow college of nautical studies
Disgusting place. As just walk it by this morning. Seen a sign no smoking but yet ther were loads of them smoking. Pathetic
HIGHLY dont recommend going here, industrial strike like every day completely ruined my experience and my chance for passing as everything gets crammed into the last week when should be spread out, along side a three hour exam.
