Very well situated campus in the city centre just across the Buchanan bus station and train stations like Queen Street at Central Station a short walk away.
An impressive and sleekly modern university, placed on the top of a hill overlooking the city. I appreciated the open, welcoming plazas, which buzzed with the vibrant energy appropriate to a university, but the architectural style felt a little cold. Scotland is a haven of medieval history and ancient myth: I believe that legacy should have been honored instead of rejected. The buildings look like they could easily have been placed in California or Arizona. Still, students are what make a campus, and I appreciate the ideas that always seem to be flowing out of the halls and classrooms here.
Study experience was trully horrible here. The tutors left our coursewok which included sheets with our personal data on the corridor accessed by anyone. The coursework disappeared, including our personal data !!! I was a mature student already in employment wanting to get qualifications. I faced a lot of problems from the tutors because they have caused me a lot of issues when I missed a class due to work in the field I studied...While the whole point as they emphasised was to get students to employment , and had my marks lowered because of that! There was little listening from their side, and I was chased with emails to turn up to the Course Leader office to keep explaning myself. She admitted she finally understood that I my situation is different than most of other students at the very end of the course. The attendance tracking process was also not working. We were asked ro scan the matriculation cards upon each room entrance tgat no one was checking anyways, and even though I attended the class, I was still called in to explain my absences even though I attended the class. Upon graduation, my name was not included in the final books, so I had nothing to show to my family. This year, I wanted to start another Masters programme at another university, and needed a copy of curriculum toget credits transferred. I sent an email to student services, and its been a month and I have not received any reply, now missing the deadline ! This lack of response prevented me from further studies, which is a total shame ,but ot proves uselessness of this institution. Even if I start the next year, I cant get my credits trasferred because Its gonna be over 7 years from the start of my course with GCU, so I will have to pay extra for modules, which would have been easily transferred. Rankings are bad. Please, don't be lured in by huge modern buildings, mascottes, student union etc. These you will get at any other university.
Many fond memories I have as a university student at GCU! I've grown so much in learning and being involved with the community, upholding the common good values.
Hi! I want to get admission in Jan Intake and to know the procedure and requirements for this. Kindly i need campus's representative for guidance.
GCU is indeed home away from home. Warm welcome from staff and student ambassadors , at all points eager to assist in whatever way to ensure newbies settle in. I love it here
Please don't opt for Msc Applied computer games here it's completely opposite what you think and in general GCU is a bad university according to my experience I recommend please don't choose this university.
Hi I felt soooogood at the University for the Common Good. ...hope to have good time in future too. Thanks
Great campus...!! Simply enormous...!! Very happy to study there...!! There's nothing that the campus doesn't have...!! Now back to normal...
Great place, food, history, sport, up to date books, counselling. Staff helpful.
