Went into a lovely room with a roaring fire, look up and there is a bison head above the fire place... shot in 1884 and still proudly on display. What the hell? It’s 2018 take the thing down. Also only two ales on (one was Doom Bar so might have well as just been one) and even though there was a Guineas tap he offered a ‘tin’. I’m sure if they took the unnecessary decor down and improved the ale it would be nice, but judging my the other reviews a 130 year old bison head is the least of your worries if your an animal lover.

Staying again at this wonderfully unique Country Inn
New Chef with an excellent Menu who likes to wow his clientele.
The staff warm welcoming and attentive. 
The rooms are spotless and very homely.

Warm fires, busy local bar, but also a quiet snug. Good cask beer, and wine selection. Interesting decor! Will be back to try the food.

Seems to be a hunting theme running across this pub, bison head on the wall... hmm not great really. Welcomes fox hunters... Not acceptable. Drink selection was poor, and staff were rude and I felt unwelcome from the moment I stepped in, in the way you would when you step in somewhere that appears to be locals only, outsiders not allowed. Other than that it had seats and a fire I guess so that was nice.
