We don't live local, but when we visit the area in our caravan we always go for a few pints at The Gate. Today we had Sunday Lunch and it was absolutely delish.  Shaun and Ellie are brilliant hosts, they make you feel very welcome. We always take our dogs, the chef came out today and gave us a bag of meat scraps for the dogs, can honestly say, best bag of scraps I've ever tasted.

Excellent food with very generous portions. Good value for money. I had the mixed grill which was £20.

Great chance for a Sunday meal out, to somewhere that's not to big. Regular customers, polite staff. The chicken meal was fantastic, the fresh veg kept on coming out to table. Afters it was Cheese Cake, of course! Cup of coffee whilst the meal went down. Apparently, so my mother says, I came here 30 odd years ago. I have no real memory of that occasion, this one is my best Sunday meal over the last few months, thanks to the staff at this venue. Have been back again. Great food always.

The Gate has new tenants and last night was opening night for them. The pub was clean and tidy, free food was laid on to welcome old and new customers. Lovely couple Shaun and Ellie are just what the pub needs, nice and friendly with a warm welcome. We shall definitely return.

Really nice little pub. Has been around for many years. The food was good and the staff were friendly. There is a nice little beer garden for kids to play in. Also a decent car park so your car is safe while you are getting smashed out your skull. While the garden is nice, there was a little present from a dog. I do love how dogs and it is great they are let in, but the owners should probably pick up their parcels.

New owners , friendly and chatty. Real fires. Food cook only once you have ordered. Limited menu but delicious, more things will be added as weeks progress

New landlords have been in for just a fortnight at the time of writing 16th Nov 2022. We got a very friendly greeting even though we only stayed for drinks, and great beer it was too. Next time we will be back for food.

A very pleasant country pub, with an open and sunny garden. The bar service was excellent as was the pint of refreshing draught beer I enjoyed.

Nice pub, located on the country side, right next to the road, with car park situated on the both corners, always busy. The owner is a very friendly person and this place is pets friendly, u can sit on the garden with your puppy. Food is really tasty and they have always been up to highest quality, service got 5* from my experience, prices are affordable for everyone.
