In all my years and I have lived over half a century now, I can honestly say that the Galleon fish restaurant really doesn't deserve to be called the best fish and chip shop in Wales. It deserves to be called the best fish and chip shop in Britain! The fish was battered in a light crispy batter that was neither too oily or soggy, nor was it the majority of the fish as you sometimes get with some fish and chips. The fish inside flaked beautifully and melted in the mouth. The chips were generous and were simply out of this world. Now for a warning. If you are vegetarian. Who eats fish you will not be able to partake of these heavenly wonders because they are cooked in the old fashioned say with beef oil. It makes the food tasting great but would be a hindrance to vegetarians. My family and I plan to go again as soon as we can. It's a must if you love fish and chips.

Was really busy as it was a sunny day. Service was quick and to the point, which is fine. Chips were ok they were really greasy when you get past top level, don’t see what all the fuss is about just a standard fish & chip shop.

Asked for gluten free fish and chips. Was offered a cheese and onion pasty!! LOL

You can smell the oil from this place 300 yards away and I can still taste it hours after. I won't be going back til the oil is sorted. Shame as the chips were potentially really nice and the staff serving are very friendly. 3 stars as hopefully this place was just having a bad day.

Not a bad chippy at all. Only dropped in once with a friend and she raved about the fare offered. Quick service and reasonable prices.
