Very busy lunch but managed to get a table. Main menu I felt was a bit pricey but they do a lunch menu with a choice of about 8 meals @ £6. We had lasagna which was so hot it was still bubbling.it was extremely tastey. My only criticism would be about the salad as there was no tomato or cucumber and only a sliver of onion. On the whole very enjoyable

Took visitors to The Toad !! Non of us enjoyed our meals, so won't be rushing back there for a while !! Of the five meals that were chosen . Three had Steak and two of us had grilled chicken on bubble & squeak. Each of the steaks were tough & chewy. Two people asked for it to be Well Done".. - they came raw & very chewy . Both chicken meals were over- cooked & pretty much inedible. The potato mash was a disaster too. The waiting staff at the tables did try their best, but the kitchen staff need changing or re-training. We complained about our main courses, so too others on the next table to us. Try eating somewhere else is my recommendation.

Excellent food in a very nice pub with friendly staff. They don't have a children's menu because everything on the normal menu is available in half portions. A simple idea which means a change from sausage and mash, macaroni cheese, etc. My 4 yr old had gammon and a fried egg with chips and loved it! More places should do this!
