The fox and hounds is a great traditional country pub. It serves a good selection of real ales and lagers. In winter there is always an open fire to warm yourself by and in summer the outdoor seating by the canal is always popular. The food served is traditional and well executed - you won't be disappointed by the taste nor feel like you've bee short changed. Heartily recommended.

We came out from London to meet a friend and chose this pub from online reviews. We weren’t disappointed. The steak and ale pie and apple and plum crumble were absolutely delicious. The wine list was more than acceptable. Staff friendly and efficient. Our dog was welcomed. Lovely location by the Basingstoke Canal. We will come again. Thank you.

Great pub with no TV's playing sport to distract your conversation. The food looked good, but I wasn't hungry. Their real ale of the same name was very nice!

Fantastic dog-friendly pub. Great for a break when walking or sailing on the canal running past the garden. The Sunday roast dinners are outstanding. Best to book as the place fills up quickly, although in Summer there are plenty of outside tables. Very good value and a good selection of beers.
