Amazing, gulten free friendly, dog friendly, family run, local pub. Gorgeous home cooked food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. 
It's got a restaurant area which offers table service (also used for private functions). Cosy bar area with a fire and comfy chairs.
It has a stash of books and games for the patrons to enjoy as well as a dart board.
It has a lovely little outdoor area (part of which is by the road so be careful if you have small children) and it's just by the canal so the perfect place to stop post or pre walk.
Even the toilets are great (though I can only speak for the ladies). There are lotions, tissues and tampons out should you need them and you dry your hands on little flannels (which get washed between use).
I personally love this place, it's exactly what a quiet county pub should be like.

Service fine and beer,  Pride good. But very poor fish with chips for nearly £12. Tiny portion half of which batter and over cooked. 
Mentioned to staff that portion tiny, told it was weighed out so this is deliberate and not a one off.

Fantastic food and service. Very accommodating for mothers day after being let down by a different restaurant.

Nice place but the hours of service are inaccurate. We arrived at 2pm, attempted to place order at 2.15, only to be told that the kitchen was closed. So we ordered some drinks and then after going back to the car to get a bag of popcorn so the kids didnt starve, we had to witness the adjacent table served their meal at 2.40pm. If a party of 7 is prepared to order drinks and snacks, you would think a reasonable business would extend the kitchen hours to cater
