We only popped in spontaneously on New Year's Day for a drink before walking the dog. A table was available in the bar area, which was perfect. Staff were attentive, place clean and atmosphere friendly. Will need to pop back for a meal definitely.
We had a lovely dinner tonight at the Fox and Hounds, there was a definite improvement from past experience! Food was great as was the service Karen who was lovely and the young boy who’s name we didn’t catch, he was very polite and gave great service!. Loved that there are some decent vegan options too, we will definitely be back :
Such a friendly, warm pub. The staff were just so lovely! It felt cosy, nicely lit. We chose to eat in the pub area rather than the dining area for the relaxed atmosphere. We opted for the traditional Sunday roast and it was DELICIOUS! They even automatically bought over a boat full of extra gravy! Superb, we will be back
I stumbled upon this little gem on a walk from my home in Canford. Having recently moved to the area, I was really looking for somewhere I could relax and enjoy a pint with my better half. The beer selection is varied and reasonably priced. The menu is excellent and the staff attentive. In two weeks we have been back four times. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours and I like to think this will be my local for years to come. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed. Special shout out to Alice who looked after us on Friday, made us feel very welcome.
Fantastic food and really nice staff. Taking Covid measures seriously but not in an intimidating way. Lots of outside seating both out the front and rear meaning that staying in the sun is possible. Multiple lunch menus available and very reasonably priced. Food came in a reasonable time frame and was cooked very well. Will definitely be making a return trip.
Visited today with my wife and 12 week old son in baby carrier at 15:45; after a rather unorthodox ‘greeting’ we were shown to a table in the bar area immediately to the right of the entrance door. Upon requesting a table in the restaurant we were advised that they “didn’t really cater for children” a sleeping 12 week old baby… After a few more failed requests for a different table we were given cutlery and menus for the 3 of us… We left without ordering and won’t be back; which is a shame as the pub is within walking distance and has a great menu.
Really lovely meal, my partner and I both had the roast dinner which came with the extras from both the beef and pork options as well as the turkey. Fast service even when the venue was busy. Served by Rosie who responded with our request of additional gravy and the bill very promptly. Will be back
The food was great. Service was a bit sparse. It took a long time to get the order in, food arrived in good time and was very good. However, we had to clear out own table when we had finished. Try calling the pub and you get an animated android on the phone called Claire. When she could t answer my question, she tried to connect me to someone, but no one answered the phone and the line went dead. Not impressed with this.
My daughter and my youngest grandaughter and I popped in for a Sunday dinner and was met by very friendly staff, we were seated and ordered our food and drinks from the bar. The staff were very polite respectful, and were very busy .the problem is the food is not cooked using fresh ingredients, the roast potatoes were out of the freezer you can tell fresh from frozen, The Belly pork was mostly fat .When you look over the menu it describes each dish as very tempting but we were very disappointed. The chef is only cooking what is ordered by the pub owner.
Went in just before Christmas at 10 o'clock at night for a quick drink after visiting family. Today just received a parking fine for useing the car park . Never got told anything when we went to the bar by the barman about this which I guess is a new system as was there in September and didn't get a fine. To top it off my wife phoned them today to be told by a rude woman that there is signs everywhere and we should have seen them and then lied about it being in action for 7 plus months . Unfortunately won't be returning to this pub due to this , and the rudeness off that staff member
