Often pop in when I'm in Whitley Bay... always canny and really good value whether you're eating or just drinking. Last night my pint got taken when I was in the loo and they replaced it with no fuss without any cost, the staff are just dead canny and aye it's always a place I like to go
Had to send the soup back as it was cold. Staff were obliging to resolve issue.nParts of the pub looked tired, noticeable damage on walls, and carpets on the stairs looked off. Wasn't too busy at the time of the visit, but the tables needed clearing. Has the usual spoons value attached to the menu and several real ales priced at under £2 per pint. It's worth a visit.
This was a solid spot to grab a lunch deal, having a smooth style to its interior including the curves between different sections of seating! Counter is nicely laid out and staff were approachable, who served me a tasty pint of Leffe while I waited for the food. My Beef Madras with rice and naan bread was hot as expected, seating is fine and table was impressively clean!
When we arrived there was a table available but not very stable rocking, my friend ordered an Abbotts beer which he returned because it was cloudy and didn't taste good changing to a Doom bar, my wife and I had Strongbow which also wasn't great, after that I had a Doom bar and my wife and her friend had wine. Unusual for a Wetherspoons but will not be returning to this one.
My Son says they have a really nice bathroom here. Haha. Been in a few times over our stay here in Whitley Bay. Found a few real ales and craft beers I haven't had before. Played some boardgames with the kids, and stopped in for breakfast today.nnFew separate areas, with their own feel and atmosphere. Bright and light inside with large windows on either side. Nice place.
