The Fighting Cocks is a family run business, serving good food. Run by Chris and Vanessa Maskery with business partner Steve Prebble. The business is a favourite destination pub for Families and Seniors. Winner of the Best Tenanted Pub in the UK and the best Turnaround pub in the South East at the 2010 and 2015 Great British pub awards.

It’s a lovely pub but the service could benefit from a nice touch. My daughter was with the young children and ordered desserts for garden. The Waitress brought them out with no cutlery. My daughter was told to go to the bar if she needed spoons. Just bringing them wrapped in a serviette would have been nicer and helpful?

Not a bad thing to say! Had the Friday fish and chips and it was life changing. The fish was so full of flavor and meaty (no bones). The batter was crispy and tasty. The chips were perfectly cook. Staff were amazing. Answered all our questions, if they didn't know they popped off and came back with the answer. I will certainly be coming back again without a doubt. Thank you! I will be back real soon (booked a table for Friday week.) As promised I did return again this Friday. Again had the Fish and Chips but asked for 2 pieces of fish! Plate arrived and I had 2 of the best tasting pieces of fish I have ever had.

Very good pub restaurant. 15 in our party including 6 children. Great service and the food was excellent at a reasonable price. Harry and Grace who served us were friendly, helpful and a credit to the restaurant

Wonderful pub garden with outside bar and BBQ in the sunshine. Portions extremely generous and drinks well priced, lots of parking and playground for the kids

We'd heard good things about the food so thought we'd try it out for lunch. We ordered at the bar and didn't wait long to do this. We ordered a starter and our lunch from the specials board.  The starter came out and we enjoyed the food. Then the long long wait began. We were sat in a little room at the back of the bar. We were the first in there and on our own for quite a time so our order should have been well ahead in our little section...OH  NO ! two people sat behind us ordered their lunch had it served ate it and left BUT we still hadn't had our meals. Next a table of four sat next to us and ordered...you guessed they ordered and were served before us. We were sitting right in front of the bar and the older lady who seemed to be in charge just kept shrugging her shoulders and said they'd messed up but not one word of apology. We waited nearly an hour for our main course. The older lady said it was because We'd had a starter but if chef didnt start cooking the main until you'd eaten the starter We'd all be in trouble. I think they were muddled with table numbers as they came to our table with the other people's food first each time. How you can mess up the table numbers when there were only 3 tables in the little room we were in, is ridiculous. It was a total shambles.
