The waitress serving us was lovely, the restaurant was nice and clean, and the prices weren’t bad either! I got a kids fish & chips as they didn’t do small portions, which I was glad I was able to get because some places don’t allow you to purchase kids food unless it’s for a child. Even for a child, the size of the fish was huge! The fish & chips were delicious, the fish was really flaky and moist. Even the plates of chips were a decent size too. We weren’t waiting long at all for our drinks or food, despite how busy the restaurant was.
I can honestly see why this is the famous fish pan! Every time I go to Scarborough, I come here. The food is lovely and full of flavour. The staff are welcoming. You are never waiting long for your food. It is never overly expensive. I have no complaints only that I wish it was closer to home! Great food and service. Keep it up.
Cod and chips, sit in, on Scarborough seafront for only £7:95!! Portion was huge. Cooked perfectly and served by friendly helpful staff. What more can you ask for… Takeaway availability downstairs too. Definitely our favourite chip shop restaurant.
Lovely little fish and chip shop on the main front. They have a cafe upstairs which has some nice sea views if you can get the tables when it's less busy. We shared a Jumbo meal between 2 of us and it was plenty of food.Food: 5/5
Firstly i was apprehensive due to awful reviews coming from a nearby business that is attempting to ruin this icon8c fish shop. I came up from London to visit as a UK person that eats this daily in our English diet , I can say the staff were lovely the cod was excellent with crispy batter and nice chunky not frozen. The chips are home cooked and lovely potatoes seasons and potatoes change. Scampi in batter was excellent fresh from Whitby not frozen. Toikets clean place clean sauces drinks tasty. Fish and chips fresh as can be. We have fresh fish shops in London at twice the price. Thanks to Harry for our lovely visit. I am unsure what the complainers are looking for perhaps you want fish in breadcrumbs.
Simply the best fish and chip shop in all of Scarborough, really can't be beaten. The fish is perfectly cooked and flavourful, the batter is the perfect thickness and has the best crunch and the curry sauce is delicious and slightly sweet. It's all perfection.
Popped by today 3rd July for that traditional fish and chips by the sea and was not disappointed the service was 5 star and the food quality was hard to beat. Me and my friend couldn’t think of anything they could do better. We will be back
This is a great place on the seafront! We walked along looking for a place to eat some Fish&Chips & after checking out several places we came across The Famous Fish Pan. To the right side of the building was a takeaway style chippy & then we noticed the lefthand side was a restaurant style setting. On first look it seemed small with limited seating however a member of staff told us they had more seating upstairs & was shown to a table overlooking the seafront! Lovely views. The prices are pretty reasonable considering the others around and the food came out all together hot and well presented too. We had Fish&Chips with mushy peas, bread&butter accompanied by a pot of tea. My daughter had a cheeseburger which was decent & not some basic one. The chios were chunky sizes and like the rest of the food was cooked perfectly!. We'll definitely visit here again if we're in Scarborough. Staff were all pleasant & very attentive throughout.
We went here after seeing it as highly rated for fish and chips. Separated queues , COVID safety precautions in place. One of the finest and Tasty fish and chips we had In Scarborough. Worth every penny. We all liked it. Must if you are in South Bay .
Delicious fish chips and scampi friendly staff highly recommended we love you all
