I can only speak for the fish and chips, but it was excellent. The haddock was flavorful and the batter was crisped to perfection. I would recommend this to those visiting London in search of fish and chips. The bartender handled our order and drinks. She was very responsive and helpful. 10/10 Guinness pour. The place is quite large so plenty of seating. Music selection a light house vibe at the time I was visiting - 4pm
Lovely. Plush, in a low- key way. Huge Pub featuring walk-through 'Zoned' layout. A local Pub frequented by people from all walks of life. Pleasant, unpretentious Staff. Has nice Chair'n'Table style Outdoor Seating, even a small outdoor Enclosure; for Dining, Summer drinks.Food: 5/5
Genuinely could not have asked for a better environment to watch the Euro quarterfinal. The reservation area was comfortable and well serviced, the staff were friendly and efficient, and there was good volume and view of the screens. One of the nicest pubs I've been to with a great atmosphere. And the food was fantastic. We had a great time!
This is an historic pub close to Ladbroke Grove tube station with an absolutely wonderful interior. It's got quite an interesting history through the decades worth reading up on! and has been renovated nicely really have a good look at the Victorian decor, it's stunning! It was quiet when we went. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food yummy and nicely presented- more of a gastro pub with little twists on pub favourites! Veggie options on offer and chips were fab! Vegetarian options: I had the veggie burger which was great, came with chips and little pots of ketchup and mayo!
We went to Elgin for Sunday Roast and couldn’t have asked for a better place to enjoy this tradition. Diane was super friendly and told us a little about the pub and the area and I had my first Sticky Toffee Pudding!Recommended dishesYorkshire Pudding, Sunday Roast Beef
Wanted to experience our first pub lunch in London and The Elgin did not disappoint! Food was delicious and service was excellent. We got seated straight away upon booking. Would highly recommend the Sunday Roast. We ordered the Pork Belly, Chicken and beef and got recommended the truffle cauliflower - that was delicious and creamy. Special mention to Diane for looking after us - she was really attentive and made some great recommendations! Would definitely come back!

Ladbroke Grove  £6.60 Estrella A Stunning West London Gin Palace. The Elgin is located on Ladbroke Grove close to Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill. The nearest Tube is Ladbroke Grove, it’s a two minute walk to get here. The pub was built in 1856 and remodelled to its present form in 1898. The Elgin is Grade II listed and is named after Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Elgin, the chap who stole the marbles from Greece. This pub has had some famous and infamous punters over the years. John Christie the serial killer of 10 Rillington Place used to drink here as did Joe Strummer, he played here with his earlier band The 101ers. The decor here is simply stunning and takes you back to the time of Victorian London’s Gin Palaces. The pub has three distinct sections which have their own individuality and are all equally stylish and elegant. All around you will find dark ornate woodwork, beautifully carved partitions with etched glass, beautifully gilded mirrors, all of which makes for a grand setting. This Young’s pub had a solid beer selection which included predominantly popular tipples, two cask, some craft and no and low. I decided on an Estrella, my pint hit the spot but was expensive for this fairly standard lager. The food menu consists of Bar Snacks, Sharers and elevated pub grub classics, Fish & Chips costs £18. I visited this pub a few times last year, most notably for my Son’s 30th birthday party. The last time I visited was in September for an afterwork slurp or two. I arrived around 6.30pm, the pub was absolutely packed and had a great buzz about the place. The punters were a mix of locals, post work pinters and early evening out outers. The service was good, considering how busy it was, I didn’t have to wait to long to be served. The @theelginw11 manages that difficult trick of looking like a place to eat, and a place to have a pint but at the same time not favouring neither. This is a beautiful pub that is a great place to spend time in and most definitely gets the LPM seal of approval. ℹ Info correct on visiting 22.09.23
Coco who was working behind the bar for our party gave amazing service. She made the experience fun, relaxed and hassle free. I felt a bit awkward leaving the pub as we had made some mess, but she was really reassuring. Would recommend hiring the place out and look forward to going again.Food: 5/5
