Such a bad place to stay. My wife and I stayed here for a friend 's wedding. The rooms are nice enough but not worth the high price; very basic. The staff were appalling; seemingly only there to take our money and for some strange reason, to wake us up at 8.30am on the weekend to ask us if we want anything (a lie in please). We were staying for two nights and apart from these interactions, could not find a member of staff. I wanted to borrow an iron but there were definitely no staff on site any time but 8.30 am. We weren't given any information; there seemed to be WiFi but couldn't get the code, no offer of breakfast and we couldn't find the check out time (it's 10am on a Sunday by the way, as we were told at 10am on the Sunday when the staff came back). I asked for numbers for a local taxi when we arrived but this never came. Our friend tried to check in on the Saturday and couldn't do it because there were no staff, we came back every 2 hours and tried calling and leaving messages (I'm still waiting for the call back), in the end she had to drive back home after the wedding. The whole time no one asked us how our stay was, not even when we paid.

My partner didn't want to stay when we arrived as the room was overlooking a busy road which meant a lot of road noise. When we requested another room we were told it wasn't possible as they were full but after a second attempt we were offered a much smaller room. In the end we left without staying and drove home. The noise aside, the hotel is fairly nice, bar downstairs and the room was reasonably presented.

A lovely meal this Friday evening. We had rump steak and chips and scampi and chips. Both meals produced beautifully and cooked as we wanted it. Excellent customer service from initial telephone call to book, to reception at the bar on arrival, to ordering and getting the food. Good atmosphere in the pub. Very well done to the team!
